Coolest LOOKING car for under $25-30k US (new)?

I don't know why but I keep going back to the Subaru Outbacks with the fake air-intake. These things just look sharp. Be it the Imprezza RS coupe or the outback sedan - the outback versions of each look damn sweet (yes I'm aware they are somewhat underpowered, especially the full-size).

I would say the S2000 for about 30k. I think you can get an A4 for about 30k also. Other than that the MR2 is pretty cool looking. Its a little underpowered but still looks cool. I forgot to mention the Z3 is under 30k if you buy the wimpy one.
 
Excluding the A4 I only mentioned roadsters because I am in the market for one...

Come this May and my check will be in the mail, Im hoping the stock market doesnt decline too much cause then Ill have to mail more checks later on. MZ3/Boxster or Boxster S.

I second the MR2...underpowered, yes, but its light weight makes up for it. A4's kinda bland on the outside, wonderful interior though. I also like the look of the new G20t. Oh and the Jetta. Basically, all the cars I'm considering purchasing in 5 months...can't wait! 🙂

My mother actually lent me her impreza sport wagon a few months back for a year for free till next summer, but I'm almost hoping she doesn't extend it so I can buy one myself - this damn thing is auto 🙁 I seriously can't wait to go car shopping.
 
I agree, the A4, Passat, and Jetta are all kind of "bland", but in a good way, more like "understated". They are all very nice-looking cars. If "un-bland" always looked good, then the Aztek and Hyundai Tiburon would look good. But they don't.
 
Why not look into a camry or a maxima. If your into quasi american I would look at the chrystler sebring. A mustang is pretty cool also. Whatever you do dont buy an SUV or a station wagon. The only SUV that I would encourage you to buy is a LandRover. It costs about 34K. Try going to MSN carpoint. It is a great site. It lets you choose different trims on cars and prices them at MSRP.
 
sounds like we're pretty much in the same situation. I paid off the rest of my mom's note on her sebring, and I got it 2 years ago. Sick of the auto, sick of the crappy handling...I want something new and sporty. If you can deal with zero and I mean ZERO cargo space, the MR2 is badass. I test drove one the other day, and I enjoyed it more than my friend's TT. Corners like it's on rails. 🙂
 
Perry...they are bringing the WRX here??? SWEET!!! Add another car to my list of prospectives! Man, I hope they get rid of those gaudy goldish wheels though. 🙂
 
Im leaning towards a boxster 2.7L maybe the 3.2L Boxster S. I have been toying with other makes such as corvettes, s2000, mr2. Im looking at the last two becuase of the pricing. My friend bought a boxster last spring and I loved it. If you want to drive a car that can turn and stop on a dime I would test drive one of these. It is a little expensive but it is worth every penny. Well at least the base 2.7 Boxster. But to stay on the topic if I were looking for a sedan I would look at an A4 or a jetta. If you want a trendier car look at the BMW 3 series or the MErc C class. Both of those are priced to sell and are not that underpowered.
 
Have to agree with the Subaru RS, I've always liked it's rally inspired styling. And with 25k you could buy a new RS AND get a turbo kit installed on it with a top mount intercooler. Put that air dam to good use. 🙂

They already got rid of those Gold wheels for this model year already. They now come with silver/anthracite color wheels now. 🙂

Other than that, a used Supra, Corvette, 300ZX, or RX-7. Man these cars are sweet. 🙂
 
300zx's do kick some ass.

Just perusing the subaru site and it seems the 3.0 litre engines are now available - 212 horsepower, finally some power for the large pricey outbacks - BUT its only in auto! Grr. Not that I have the cash for one anyway.
 
skoorb, look at the 2001 SS Z28 Camaro. For a base price SS, you're looking at about $26,500 for 12.90'ish 1/4 mile times and 325HP, not to mention an awesome, mean azz looking ride which will burn the tires first thru 4th gear and hit 175 in 6th (definately get the manual 6 spd.). I bought mine about 2 months ago, and totally love it.28mpg on the highway, in 6th gear running 85 on I85, it's just sippin' gas taching about 1800rpm. Those 17" SS wheels look awesome with those 245/75/17 F1's too.
