How's it going ClockHound? Any new builds in the works?

Yes. Thanks for asking. Just finished a garage sale mATX dev box. Constructed only from used or neglected-in-the-closet parts. Nibbled away at the swap meet Raijintek Aeneas restrctive front and rear grills until it could breathe easy. Have a ROG Maximus Gene with a 2700k at 4.6 under a $20 D14. Basically the SandyBridge of my former dreams. ;-)

Also have a couple itx builds in the planning phase. With more Nibbler mayhem expected. The MNPCTECH Nibbler works on all materials, like acrylic or plexi, right?

It's not overkill, it's a high performance turbo fan shroud and you should be proud! ;-)

Thats great to hear, keepin busy!... The nibbler tool only works with metal.... If you need to cut plastic for case mods, check out LEXAN... You can cut it with metal cutting shear, but LEXAN is more expensive than acrylic or plexi-glass

and I thought I'd like the Matte Black, but think Gulf Blue would look better for the front honeycomb grill insert...

Thanks for the tip - Lexan it is.

Dunno about the grille color. The black says it's all business - the 917 was in the serious speed business. But, the blue could be cool too. Glad it's not my decision. ;-)

Oh..carrying over the orange black stripe would be cool. Worst case, you could just repaint it black.

Gas cap impressionist? Ok, but the scale makes it appear like one of the subs they'd put in 917s for pimp-out-my-ride show days. ;-)

Great work and photos as ever, btw. What gear are you shooting with?

Stunning looking case and great movie as well!
Just wondering as someone who wants to try painting for the first time, did you sand off the black first before applying the primer( this is what write up's I have read state to do).
Also what type of paint are you using.
Thanks!

Great thanks for that link! Now to find some paint, got the case ordered (although I ordered the mastercase maker 5) I will be getting the clear window from mnpctech so I am excited for that.
Also for your honeycomb insert color, the only thing I thought about it was it might be cool if it was orange and around it was completely blue with the black trim, kinda the way the racing stripe goes through the center of the car in the movie.

Really amazing. And I used to think I was a bad-ass case modder, when I drilled holes in a case plastic front bezel for more airflow. :p

Would you recommend using the mouse sander or the 3M scotch Brite Pads on this case for the initial sanding.

@mooncancook , not that I know of atm ... I'll be happy just to get it finished, so I can start using it. I've got new desk and two 27" HP zdisplays waiting in boxes for it as well..

@panthervca Did you watch my video guide I posted earlier?

Yeah I watched your video with the mouse sander, but then I saw another one where you only talked about the 3M scotch brite pads with the Engine Enamel paint. Was just wondering which reult you felt you liked better.
