Holy crap man, all people are doing in this thread are posting more or less surreal pictures of war that most of us don't ever see. No one is has had a "don't mess with us punk" attitude.

Who in here is saying war is a cool video game? Except the 12 yr old that posted a pic of CS.

To be entertained by a picture of war is indeed a "don't mess with us attitude."

But moreso, I was speaking of the general consensus of most Americans and the unwarranted hatred for Middle Eastern people.

I don't understand how its a don't mess with us attitude by looking at a picture of war. I thought the pictures were just as interesting of the British snipers and of the Afghans then of our tanks blowing sh1t up.

Oh and if muslims don't want this unwarranted hatred then maybe they should do something about their religion breeding terrorism instead of doing nothing.

wow, great thread. I skipped a few posts and I've still been in this thread for a half hour!

State for me any race, religion, culture, gender, or society and with enough research I could name ten thousand mentally ill, deomonic, and possessed violent people within that demographic.

Point: Insane people from any group, but most are normal peace loving individuals.

If you think the majority of Middle Easterns are Osama bin Ladens, you need to explore the world a bit and learn first hand, not what you saw on a 10 second video clip on the news of a group of teenage US flag burners in Baghdad.

To a point your right. The difference is, most religions, cultures and races arent out waging what essentially is a world war.
The Islamic Religion is. I suggest you look at history for the past 50 years and do a tally of every attack carried out with the intention of harming someone to further an agenda. You'll see the Islamic religion accounts for probably 90% of the attacks, and those attacks are not limited to a specific geography. They've happened in France, England, USA, Australia, Asia...Virtually everywhere.

Violence plagues their society because of poor leadership within their religion.

Five hundred to a thousand years ago, Christians once ran the world killing others who were not like them, but their leadership eventually improved, which advanced their religion to it's intended roots of peace and acceptance.

Ever read about some of the Popes of the early 2nd millennium (year 1000 - 1300)? Some of them were beyond insane. One I believe even turned the Vatican (or whichever Catholic headquarters they used at the time) in a brothel.

But you don't see that anywhere now, only peaceful leadership, because they progressed well.

I really don't think the roots of their religion are of violence. There is a movement in the Middle East of "liberal Muslims" who take the teachings more metaphorically and focus on the good parts, as Christians do. They just need our encouragement. The quicker we help advance their religion closer to the level of progress other religions have achieved, the closer we will be to a more peaceful world.

We dont live 5000, 500 or even 50 years ago. We live RIGHT NOW. And today the biggest threat to world peace and the biggest threat to the Western nations is Islam. You can blame the religion, you can blame the leaders, you can blame the young brainwashed recruits. Doesnt matter. The point is, its not angry Brits who are strapping bombs to themselves and blowing up trains and bus stops.

You are correct.

My question and point was, how do we solve the problem?

A billion Muslims exist in the world. Tell me how to solve it.

I offered you my solution, which is punish those who do wrong, but show a friendly hand to those who are innocent, to help them advance to our level of sophistication and progress.

What's your solution?

my opinions were always ignored since im under 18 =P

When you move away from the confines of your parent's house and form a coherent opinion, instead of the mix of political jumble you heard off a Kanye West or Green Day album (or whichever MTV bubble gum pop act kids your age spend their time mimicking), your opinion will matter more.

yes since all people my age get their political views from MTV and Green Day. :disgust:

Sadly and honestly, celebrities and fashionable trends are the biggest influences on teenagers political views.

Know why most teenagers and college kids are liberals?

Because it's not "cool" to be an uptight Republican wearing a suit and tie and preaching about economic policy. (Unless you're a Randroid like I was and still am. 😛 )

And music is a major influence on youth, who in their own right, are very impressionable.

oh i know alot do.. but dont stereotype that everyone does. Its the same thing as in the 70s where the teenagers (adults now) got their political views of Vietnam.

Tounge in cheek, I think the kids of the 70s got their political views while teathered in high orbit, listening to Pink Floyd, and wearing a tie dye t-shirt.

I don't think there is anything "cool," entertaining, or fun about war and I don't think an entire thread dedicated to "cool war pictures" should exist, because no such pictures have ever been taken. I only see pictures of unfortunate but necessary last resort resolutions to serious world problems.

Even more ironic, the OP is from Canada, a socialist country, like all socialist countries, that only exists and thrives because of the victories the United States has stepped up and secured on the battlefield, in the business world, in scientific laboratories, and in numerous other fields; and so I find that to be very unappreciative of him.

What?? War is hilarious! People dying is funny! Just like cancer!

now, FOAD.

Whatever that black and white picture is of an asian guy holding a pistol up to another asian man about ready to shoot him is the most powerful war picture I have ever seen.

Text

That guy isn't "ready to shoot him." The photographer captured the moment the bullet was fired. Noticed the odd cocked wrist... this is the recoil from the gun. The bullet, at the moment this photo was snapped, is in that man's brain. The guy who shot the photo didn't even realize what he had until later.

always liked this one

that one was actually staged by the russians like a day or two after they captured the reichstag

i remember hearing something similar. though, if they staged it, you'd think they'd have a proper flag?

the device is only supposed to be on the obverse of the flag, with a plain red reverse. Although that was probably changed after the war...

Anyhow, staged or not its an awsome pic.

Whats effective and whats politically correct are two different things.
You wouldnt like to hear what our solution should be, the solution that would send the message not to fvck with us. Therefore I will withhold it.

Aside from that, I think you've trolled, baited and hijacked this thread enough and personally dont want to be a part of it anymore.
