Cooking emergency - how do you make butter?

Have some incredible corn and the grill is already fired up for the meat. I've got cream, a food processor or a stand mixer. My dumbass is out of butter.

There HAS to be a way to make quick butter. Can't have my corn without plenty of butter.

I hate it when that happens.

I hope it turns out well for you.

I just made 5 quarts of homemade pasta sauce. Its so chunky and thick. Mmmmm.

If only butter will do, churn away, it's pretty straightforward.

But, someday try fresh sqeezed lemon juice and black pepper.

Quite different, but quite tasty.

Reason #387 why I love my food processor.

I bet olive oil and garlic would taste good on corn also.

prolly right. herbed butter as well, maybe with some jalapeno or smoked poblano or something to give it some kick.

Never accidentally screwed up whipped cream and ended up with a separated mess? Just keep that stuff moving, and you'll end up with butter and buttermilk.

How can someone have cream, but not butter?

The only time I have ever known me or my parents to have cream on hand would be during the holidays.

Interesting.

I've never seen cream as a staple.

Is it possible to live anywhere in the US that has an internet connection without being within a 3 minute drive of a store that sells butter?

sure... why not?

Take the cream and:

:music:
Shake it baby, shake it!

Seriously. If you have a container of cream you can shake it until butter starts forming.
