wtf non profits aren't the only ones doing this. Get off my dick.

Let's get something straight. I'm going to assume your answers

Are lack of ventalaters a problem? If yes then
If government isn't helping, private non government agencies and companies should step up, yes? Or will complaining about the government have a better outcome? No.

Am I wrong? No I'm not. Get off my dick and enjoy some good news.

Jesus Christ.
You started this thread quoting an article that is not showing the "free market" fixing a problem. You then went on to worship at the altar of wealth.

The disconnect between reality and words happened on your end.

The whole basic idea here is the same as it’s always been. Conservatives put incompetents into government and then say the incompetence of their own preferred people are why government is incompetent.
No the whole basic idea of this thread is someone other than the government is making strides against COVID19

Yes, your religion is the idea that the buying and selling of things should not be restricted.

Has nothing to do with a non-profit health system having Respiratory Therapists and Engineers come up with clever solutions to a problem.

Correct. The buying and selling of things should not be restricted. Including talents. Now you're catching on.

Oh so they're government industries?

lol

They are private, but they're not private industry designed for profit. The tax exempt status of such organizations indicates their socialist nature. The govt promotes their funding. The untested gizmos described may well prove useful. OTOH, it's a sad state of affairs we're even considering it.

BTW private industry has always played a large part in worldwide disasters

Edit: Trump has a non profit... So you think it's. NOT for profit?

Trump's "non-profit" was shut down last year because it was fraudulent, where have you been?

Exactly, a religion where if someone wants to purchase another human, it should be allowed, because its a religion based on faith, not evidence, ethics, or morality.

At least you've acknowledged what it is you actually believe, instead of trying your best to hide it behind bullshit phrasing. If anything can be purchased without restriction, than everything is monetized.

Thanks for creating this thread and replying so we could get you to just admit it instead of trying to hide it behind bullshit wording and phrasing.

And again, a non-profit healthcare system has zero to do with a faith in monetizing everything, and allowing it to be purchased with money.

Hey moron. Please quote where in this thread I praised the government. I'll PayPal you 100 bucks if you can.

Protip: you can't. I praised private industry. Quit projecting.

Please quote where I stated you praised the government? I was talking to eski about how absurd this is.

Private industry ftw.

No, they aren't. You obviously don't know what private industry means.

And if you wanna go this way, hey, moron, can you please show me where private industry has anything to do with this thread?

Private industry refers to the private sector, private companies held for the purpose of making profit. A 501c3 and state university are, by definition, not private sector. I know they both can use the word "private" and that might be confusing, but you gotta dig a little deeper.

Calling a 501c3 and a state university private industry? Really? You wanna make that argument?

Or do you just want to man up, admit you were wrong, and move on? Took you quite some time in the other thread recently, maybe you'll do better here.

So back to the engineering. One issue I see with this and would be curious how they handled it, is pumping pure O2 though a machine not designed for it is a great way to set things like CPAP machines and users on fire
It's already common to use "pure oxygen" with CPAP/BIPAP, there's just a T adapter you slap on to add supplemental oxygen if you want increased FiO2.

Hmm didn’t know that. That would partly explain the price of those things.

Hahaha, what a shitshow of a thread because the OP had to be himself.

I don't think it runs pure O2, they filter it in with normal air, and even release it after it gets filtered.

The team modified the CPAP machine to accept oxygen where external air enters the device. The air is then filtered and delivered to a patient through an endotracheal tube. Lastly, the exhaled air is re-filtered before being released into the surrounding environment.

I guess it might be pure O2 on the intake.

Yep. You can attach normal oxygen (pure) to bipap to increase FiO2 provided you have adequate flow.
