The government’s job is most certainly to fix things like this though.

If nothing else I hope this is an object lesson to people who thought that electing incompetents into positions of power has no consequences.

You might not admit it but I bet a lot of republicans wish they had Crooked Hillary running things right now. You know she at least knew what she was doing.
We all have our opinions right?

Back on topic... Doesn't it make you happy private enterprise is finding solutions the government isn't?

I’m happy that someone is finding solutions but I’m not at all happy that the government is staffed by incompetents so it can’t do its job.

I love the ingenuity of Americans! I love seeing the free market step up and fill in the gaps.

free market not found. all humans are ingenious and it is immigration from the entire globe that makes America great.

reality is that this administrations deferral to free market capitalism is the current problem. the blood of tens of thousands of Americans will be on their hands.

I initially commented on the technology itself, but now can't get over how the OP links two articles, one from a state university and the other a non profit hospital system and then somehow arrives at "yay free market."

What the fuck? I mean I guess 2 + 2 = potato.

Sorry but the solution to this is multipart. With the largest part being from the free market. The fact you seem to think this should be a government solution is frightening.

Good. For the op it's not the government's job anyway.
Definitely the government’s job. It’s insane anyone would think otherwise.

We have a public health emergency and because the people running the federal government are incompetent we have a variety of improvised solutions.

Seriously it’s incredible that people think this is a good solution. It’s because idiots thought owning the libs was so important that they elected a game show host.

This is akin to shitting on the floor and then demanding praise after cleaning it up.

People are forced to improvise a substandard solution due to a problem exacerbated by inept leadership. And OP wants to cheer about it?

Unreal.

Hey moron. Please quote where in this thread I praised the government. I'll PayPal you 100 bucks if you can.

Protip: you can't. I praised private industry. Quit projecting.

of course the solution is multipart, why are you sorry for that?

the government should be leading the fight, the President even declared himself a wartime president weeks ago. the federal government should be taking the lead, orchestrating and organizing a cohesive national response and they are not.

it is your view of this whole pandemic response that is frightening.

Well I have more faith in private industry than the government. Apperently you don't.

this isn't about faith in private industry vs government.

private industry can not managed a global pandemic, only federal governments can.

private industry provides supplies, the government does not.

the government manages those supplies, private industry does not.

it really isn't that complicated and i do realize that somehow your politics prevents you from comprehending this.

So back to the engineering. One issue I see with this and would be curious how they handled it, is pumping pure O2 though a machine not designed for it is a great way to set things like CPAP machines and users on fire

Well in this case it's a matter of private industry modifying CPAP machines to ventilators. Government didn't do that. They can't provide ventilators so private industry stepped up.

Tell me why I'm wrong.

Well we don't know what the modifications were done. That's obviously a concern.

private industry, WTF are you talking about?

non-profits and Universities are not private industry.

continually spewing the same ignorance over and over isn't going to make it suddenly real.

The whole basic idea here is the same as it’s always been. Conservatives put incompetents into government and then say the incompetence of their own preferred people are why government is incompetent.

wtf non profits aren't the only ones doing this. Get off my dick.

Let's get something straight. I'm going to assume your answers

Are lack of ventalaters a problem? If yes then
If government isn't helping, private non government agencies and companies should step up, yes? Or will complaining about the government have a better outcome? No.

Am I wrong? No I'm not. Get off my dick and enjoy some good news.

Jesus Christ.
