I've been using WordToPDF a free program, look it up on download.com or something.

it requires installing ghostscript, but i believe the directions will tell you how to do it.

painless, and excellent conversions, fast too. i wouldn't send my documents to anyone's server personally.

i'm sure its a great service for some though.

I just setup using ghostscript and a redirector and it is great! It took me about 15 minutes to set it up, but it makes me perfect pdf files from my tests.

Not bad for free?

Same here - it's a little cumberson to setup at first, but there's clear directions. It involves 3 free softwares:

1. GNU Ghostscript - converts postscript -> pdf
2. Redmon - redirects printer output to a program
3. FreePDF - makes the creation process simple!

All I do is install any postscript printer (usually an Apple or HP color laser post-script driver), install the software in the order listerd, and follow the documentation that's included to create my own PDF printer. Then, when I want to create a PDF, I click on "Print" in whatever application, it pops up a "Save-As" box, and it's saves the file right to a PDF. It's very convenient & simple to use, and FREE and LEGAL! :) For me, this is HOT HOT HOT ;)
