are you kidding me? after all this build up, you're going to give us nothing? there's definitely something you can tell us even if it's not juicy drama.

Thanks, everyone, for motivating me to get aggressive with this. There are new developments in the story, but at this time, I am unable to speak publicly on this matter.

I will definitely update this, but expect to hear from me in months. Well, in this thread, that is. I'll still troll the rest of ATOT.

I hope this means litigation. Those pics are insanely bad, dude.

My attorney has instructed me not to comment. How's that for an update?

I promise you, ATOT, I *will* update this thread when all things are said and done.

Hmmm... in a few months time, why do I think we will see a post about how crappy an attorney is, and they had a wobbly desk & a squeaky chair ? ;)

Kidding! Kidding! (well, at least, I hope that don't come true!) :)

if you hired Dirigible, don't fall for the "one on one" trick.

don`t post in a couple of months that your attorney screwed you and it turns out that your attorney was the step brother of the contractor who initially took your money...

I wish there had been a spoiler alert in the OP saying there were no updates. LOL. I just read through this whole thing, holding my breath, hoping for a great ending....and then

Sounds like the only way to fix it may be to remove the entire thing and start fresh. Hopefully he'll stand behind that warranty!

Yeah, this was screwed up from the get-go, and you can't fix concrete once it cures.

I don't think I can remember a thread that put me through so many emotions: pissed at the OP for having first world problems, shocked at the shit job the contractor did, pity for the OP, pissed again at the contractor, sadness after I learned the OP already paid, now frustration because I don't know how it ended.

my wife and i might be doing like a $25k renovation to our backyard this summer and threads like this make me nervous as shit lol. although, the company we're looking at was referred to me by my cousin who is in construction, and they are the highest rated company in the area on angies list, so i have some kind of confidence.

Just do your homework, lots of it, and you'll be fine. Don't just depend on Angie's List and ask for living examples (home addresses) of their recent work.

I see lots of construction every day living in NYC. My aunt ran her own concrete mixing and supply company, for God's sake. I have yet to see work even remotely resembling the OPs from rank amateurs, much less seasoned professionals.

How in the fark is the OP supposed to do homework after the mistake has been made?

I suppose it makes as much sense as you relating driving by construction to actually knowing something about it?

Umm... yeah, the best purbeast0 (or any of us) can do is learn from each other's mistakes. And yet we have another example of ATOT rashly bypassing the action button to engage the reaction button instead. :)
