That's strange. I can play TA just fine under Win7, doesn't need any form of compatibility mode and even shows up in games panel. I did have a problem with older graphics card drivers (would mess up colors).

I am using catalyst 14.4 for both windows xp and windows 7.
 
There's no risk in using an unpatched IE to access Windows Update.

Or unless the machine is already infected and takes you to another site to feed you more infected stuff 🙂

I've just run WU on a customers' PC, updated from SP2 to the most recent patches, no problem.

"So that's what the Google website looks like on IE6!" 🙂 Updated to IE8 now.

How the customer managed to use a Celery 2.8 with 256MB RAM, IE6 and Google Chrome and not turn into a homicidal maniac, I'm not sure!

It's gonna be even slower now that it's updated. Even smartphones have way more memory these days.
