Why do I feel like I read the same thread on another forum (or maybe this one?) a few months ago...?

Hmm, Googled it and found nothing. Weird deja vu.

Why even post the thread without pics?
I'll post a shot, but tomorrow after daybreak. It does look like those fire bricks, but not as tall, as I said, the cross section is exactly that of a modern 2x4. Also, the color is not white, it's reddish, very like a common masonry brick. The shot I want to post will be of 3 bricks:

This peculiar brick
Another I found in my yard (which I cleaned up today), which is the first one's opposite (you'll have to see it, you'll see why)
A 3rd brick, which is a common modern red masonry brick

Show us your bricks!
By noon pacific time Tuesday, promise!

Dear Lord, whatever you do, do not let these two bricks touch each other! You never know what could happen. It could be an Omega 13 device, or you could end all humanity!

OP, this is serious business. Its a brick burial ground. Your youngest child will be pulled into the fireplace tonight, never to return. You may hear her muffled voice through some muted and distorted hacking cough noise if you open the flume just right. 🙁 Sorry 🙁

Hello can we please get some more info?

Is it possible to use a Geiger counter and give us a reading?

Some carbon dating would also be of greatest help

An x-ray also to give us an idea of what is inside

Some forensic work would help also

Perhaps a sketch too

Spectral graph

Bring it the Hadron Collider to be bombarded by particles

*edit* oh geez stupid me, I forgot one. Scratch all that other stuff, can you just post a photo? That would probably be the most useful

Replacing a dilapidated fence, moving the dirt around, instead of the usual rocks and pieces of concrete, etc. my hoe came up with what appears to be an unusual brick. The cross section is virtually identical to a current 2x4, it's a lot longer than the usual brick, it's 11 3/8" long. It's heavy! 4 lb. 12 oz. It's so dense at first I wondered if it was steel, partly because the geometry is so perfect. The sides are slick, the corners very square. I suppose it's not as dense as steel, but it seems very heavy. The color is reddish, there is a lot of black on it, as from a shiny black paint. Is this some kind of archeological artifact, a brick from 80 years ago or something? My house was built in 1910. I've been living here for decades, dug in the soil a lot (I garden), never seen anything like it.

Not at all where I was expecting this thread to go.

Shot of 4 bricks all found in my back yard, from left:

The brick this thread's about!

Another weird brick I found in the yard, crazy geometry!

2 pretty ordinary bricks of different dimensions
