I've very recently accepted that Nikki Haley is a tempestarius who is using her powers to disrupt the Iowa caucus.

There's a long-standing dubious theory along those lines, but it's kind-of a dodgy idea, bordering as it does on victim-blaming. And I don't think there's any real evidence for it.
Everyone is everything when you do DNA analysis. Hitler was probably not particularly Jewish compared to the average human, saying this based on perusing some of Wikipedia's treatment on AH.

Since we are doing CTs: CIA made Philippine rebels think a mythological vampire like creature called an aswang was real -

https://history.howstuffworks.com/world-history/cia-vampires-communist-rebels-philippines.htm
Funny/scary that it actually happened. And wasn't the worst thing happening at the time...it was just a distraction to keep locals occupied and in fear.

Each day I'm more convinced that they migrated to a cheaper option for the host server. This is practically unusable at this point.

I should post this in the conspiracy theories thread...lol
ATM it's been reduced from 30sec hangups and erroring out, to 10-15sec loads. I'm still sticking to my theory though. ;)

Gremlins are real!

For example this site is unusable at times. I clicked like on your post and it was a 20 sec delay till it showed.

Gremlins in the system!

I happen to like my governor Newsom, but I'd rather not lose the Presidential election. Key battleground states will not swing towards a California Democrat who used to be the mayor of SF.

In last night's debate, both candidates said they plan to deport all 10M undocumented aliens currently living in the U.S. Of course, a prelude to that would be rounding them up into some form of mass concentration camps. (Since I doubt the current criminal justice system could handle that volume.)

So while Stephen Miller is indeed vile scum, his position isn't all that far off from mainstream GOP policy at this point.
I'll have to disagree. He has been a good mayor and governor. He a person that would represent everyone other than homophobics and white supremacists.

As a fellow Californian, don't think like a Californian. Think like the white voters in the Rust Belt who chose Trump in 2016, just enough of whom flipped in 2020. They will never be for Team Newsom, and are already having second thoughts about Joe Biden for bullshit ass reasons nobody can really articulate except for inflation sucks.

Personally I like that Newsom is vocally fighting dumb fucks like Ron Death Santis, but notice that his gubernatorial approval ratings slipped in 2023 as he did that. Even the voters that are already amenable to him think he's running for President at our state's expense. The $40B hole in the next annual budget only serves to reinforce that perception.

No one has been able to track who Hitler's paternal grandfather was. So there's a remote chance he was one-quarter Jewish, though statistically speaking, even that is unlikely.

Yeah, I vaguely recall there's some theory about adultery and a Jewish traveling saiesman. The dodgy undertone to that idea though is that it's trying to argue a Jew was responsible for the Holocaust. Given the near-total lack of evidence it's seems a morally-dubious thing to suggest.

There's also a theory that Hitler became anti-Semitic because his mother was treated badly by a Jewish doctor - another theory which also has very little evidence and which also seems like a way to blame Jews for the own misfortune.

Always struck me that Hitler was a creepy wierdo from the start (e.g. his habit of whipping his dog to impress the ladies, or his super-weird relationship with his niece, or his peculiar dietary habits, and drug consumption and related digestive problems), and until recently I was baffled how such a peculiar dude who seemed so ripe for ridicule was considered to be 'charismatic' and gained such slavish devotion. I had put it down to something about the national culture of Germany at the time, that they could be impressed by such a creepy weird guy.

But seeing what's happening in the world now, it seems to be the case that being a ludicrous oddball with glaring psychological issues and deeply-peculiar self-presentation and dress-style is in no way contradictory with having a devoted cult following. In fact the more ridiculous someone looks (particularly ridiculous hair styles *cough* Trump, Johnson *cough*) and the more obvious their psychological flaws, the more successful they seem to be in building a political following.

Yea thats why Newsom lacks some “Shut your trap while the grownups talk you Trump Gnome in heels”… That bs that the Trump base perceives as a “strong man”.

See, and I heard his mother was Jewish, and all his hate came from that, or some such.

There's a high probability most of the shit about Hitler was made up, but in the end none of it matters. He was a traumatized sociopath, thought himself and others like him were the only ones worthy of the earth, did everything within his power to seek that goal, and when the entire planet rallied against him he shot himself rather than face them with the conviction of his belief, like he's coward he always was.

The rest is just navel gazing or attempts to separate him from the rest of us, which is pretty superfluous.

His mother wasn't Jewish. They know quite a lot about her. Try reading one of the 100 or so biographies. I recommend Iran Kershaw's 2 part tome.
