I got it..

Great ride so far.. sorta reminds me of an old VW bug crossed with a ww2 fighter plane. :hmm:

Great color, and it looks so much better and cleaner than the current one with goofy front end. It's like a mini Aston Martin!

I need to let this sink in a bit.. This is extremely out of character for me. I surprised my wife with it last night by showing up at the train station to pick her up. We are normally pretty simple people. We drove half way home and decided to pull over and open up the roof. We drove the rest of the way home and got more stares and gawks than I think I've ever seen. And there are wayyy more fancy cars in this area than a little Mazda?!?!

It really has an uncanny feel of a 60s-70s European car to me. Even my wife commented on how it reminded her of her father's Jaguar in the 70s. Anyway... I love it. Thanks for all the input.

Wish I had the money and lived in a region of the country to where I could drive a vert all the time.

Congrats. I still want an NC. I have 1996 beater Mitata and love it. It would be great to have a newer version.

Yeah...definitely brave!

<-- Awaits 43st's "I failed Marriage 101" thread :)

I really want an NA or NB Miata one of these days but other things always take financial priority. I think my wife would love it but my three kids probably wouldn't fit in the trunk.

Ha! Yeah.. we had a few issues when we first lived together but now we pretty much leave each other alone.

I missed this thread. Congrats on the purchase. ^_^
Looks nicer than I thought it would. Everytime I think Miata, I think of the 90s style...lol

Got any interior shots?

This is not really the region for it.. Jan/Feb can be pretty harsh in this area. If NYC gets 6 inches.. it's almost a guarantee that we will get 12. My goal before the winter is to get a hard top, and figure out the winter wheel/tire situation. It would be great to raise the car an inch as well, but that's probably not a common part and/or request!

Got any interior shots?

I will do this soon! ^_^

Nice purchase, looks great.

This is sad. I want one, can afford to buy a brand new one with cash, but don't have a garage, parking sucks as-is on my street (everyone and their mother has an SUV, one guy got an Escalade but won't park it in his garage), and bleh, still a lot of money.

Congrats! You've made a very wise purchase that will give you more smiles per $ than practically anything on the road.

My whole family has, um, kind of a lot of experience with the NC MX-5......:p

Yeah, how sad to have one of the most venerated and beloved sports cars of all-time. Bummer.

Great photographs Sulaco!

My wife and I have been having a blast all weekend with it. We both need to get used to using sunscreen though. She is half Irish and ended up a little red after today's drive.

It's our vitamin D car.. :D

We rent an old gate house, with a small carriage barn attached to it. It's has a gravel floor and isn't heated (the barn that is). Our landlord and us use it for storage currently. I started cleaning it out for the car this morning. Having a usable garage is pretty high on the list, then I need to replace the rear rotors which are rusted pretty badly, the front rotors are in perfect shape oddly enough. So much to do!!

If you have a part in your hair or short hair for that matter a hat is a nice thing to have. I burned the hell out of the top of my head where I part my hair.

Rust on the rotors will come off as you drive well stop actually ;). I wouldn't worry about it. I just replaced my rears when I did my brakes and they already have a nice coating of rust on everything but where the brake pads hit.

I have a garage but never use it. I do have a hard top for winter which is nice though. It is just nice to have a big real window you can actually scrap. Your top probably has a defroster though so not such a big deal.
