“We will always stand for truth and the values we hold dear without compromise, but we will do so in love and kindness — treating others well even if we don’t agree with them and we will do so without hateful words.”

https://www.yahoo.com/parenting/duggars-helped-repeal-law-banning-lgbt-105011569557.html

Wha? Wha we do??
The Duggar family helped get an anti-LGBT bill get passed in their hometown Fayetteville, Arkansas on Tuesday, Dec. 9. The new bill helped overturn a measure that would have prevented landlords and business owners to evict or fire people based on their gender identity. During the campaign, the Duggars also donated $10,000 to three opponents of the Ordinance 119.

Oh,.. wait - I done plum forgot; the discrimination is actually in not allowing landlords and business owners in discriminating against people for their gender identity. Whew,.. it's a good thing the Duggars helped these poor landlords and business owners from being discriminated against in discriminating towards someone with a gender identity they do not approve of!!

I'm sure it will be a great comfort to these people to know that they were fired and evicted with love and kindness and without any hateful words. That's the most important thing.

So 2 private citizens help a cause they believe in and there should be outrage?

But the whole Democratic party can say that black people can't afford cars?

These two private citizens helped repeal a law that prevented discrimination (guided by their Love & Kindness no doubt). So, what discrimination did the Democrats dish out, in relation to;
1) what the Duggars did, and
2) ... black people and buying cars

LOL@liberals again..

This thread about two private citizens able to donate freely to whatever political candidates the choose * (which I love how thats morphed into them being directly responsible for some bill) must be an example of liberal "love and kindness" and support of opposing viewpoints. Too funny!

* Ohh and I forgot.... also for something they did on *gasp* Facebook! Horror or tyrannical horrors!

Liberals who love to legislate moral issues and personal causes get uppity when conservatives legislate moral issues and personal causes.

News @ 11

-----------

Here is a hint: Regardless of your ideology, don't legislate moral issues and personal causes. As long as no ones personal rights and property are not being infringed, leave it alone.
Otherwise, don't get all riled up when the other side does the same as you. Both liberals and conservatives are equally guilty of this.

Let people live their own lives, respect others privacy, security and space. And mind your own fucking business.
That should be the law of the land.

Yep.

Not sure why we are concerning ourselves with these two people. They aren't politicians, they aren't rich movers and shakers and they aren't celebrities.

Are we hoping to make examples of them to chill the free speech of those who aren't adequately PC enough?

Well, thats the thing. Liberals love to preach about tolerance and diversity -- as long as it agrees with their beliefs.

It is right or wrong to discriminate against gay people, or is it just a matter of ones personal opinion, because if it's right or wrong then only one side is correct, but if it's just opinion then well how you see it really is just your opinion, no right or wrong about it. So which is it, you wise person or false equivalency donkey.

She was an active campaigner who was telling outright lies but "lol @liberals".

"Michelle Duggar campaigned against the local law, prompting gay rights activists to protest her family's show, "19 Kids and Counting."

Duggar argued that the ordinance affected "the safety of Northwest Arkansas women and children" because it would "allow men - yes, I said men - to use women's and girls' restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas, and other areas that are designated for females only."

"I don't believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls," she said."

LOL @ liberals... AGAIN!

"Michelle Duggar campaigned against the local law.."
ie: she SAID something against a local law liberal idiots don't like her saying.

"Duggar argued..."

ie: she SAID something liberals don't like being said.

I personally don't agree with her viewpoint at all- but the difference is, I realize she has a right to say it and not have shitheads like you up and arms to limit her free speech to say whatever she wants to say, and hold any political view she wants to hold.

It's just telling how you leftist twits always reveal how completely totalitarian your mindsets are- when you're ironically complaining about other people being the same way.

And it's always good for laughs watching the blazing hypocrisy of it!

Not to defend the Duggars, they sound insufferable but liberals take away rights all the time. That's what regulation is, taking away a right. If you're not allowed to do something, you're losing the right to do something. If you're forced to do something, you're losing the right to choose not to do something. Liberals are as much about enforcing their views of morality on everybody as conservatives are, they just have different morals. You can argue that what they legislate is the correct thing to do, and it will be based on your own opinion of morality, but you can't deny that it's removing a right.

Mind pointing out where I proposed limiting her (or anyone else) speech?

I simply pointed out it's not simply a case of her supporting the cause financially. She actively campaigned and, while doing so, she was telling people lies. Seems like she's entitled to do both. It just makes her a bigoted liar

So, how does this show my 'totalitarian mindset'?

Oh right, it's just Zaap and one of his hyperbolic rants.

She has every right to say whatever she wants or campaign for whatever legislation she wants. We have every right to criticize her for those actions. That's how freedom of speech works; you have the right to say whatever you want, but it doesn't shield you from criticism.

It was fairly easy for me to realize that (apparent) bigots used their free speech rights to help deny certain rights against bigotry from those they are bigoted against.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

This was the proper Christian thing for them to do. Right? No, just Christian. I have to laugh at a woman who wants the world to know that she has a clown car for a uterus is concerned about what other consenting adults are doing in the privacy of their homes.

Crazy.

You always have the right to do wrong but you can be made to pay for it, no? Now you again seem to be a person for whom right and wrong are a matter of opinion.

Back in August, Change.org created a petition to cancel 19 Kids and Counting after Michelle Duggar allegedly asked voters...
A liberal seeking to take someone's job because of something they said that you disagree with.

Yeah, you guys are so tolerant.

No one is saying you don't have the right, dummy. They're saying you're hypocrites. You have totalitarian mindsets and seek to punish people via things like destroying their livelihoods because they say things that you don't agree with. You liberals are also always trying to get a big bullying government to punish people for things you don't like, like having more money than you. (Even though they laugh at you for that, since they're in bed with those very same people.)

You're just a bunch of blatant, intolerant hypocrites with no room to point fingers at anyone else for it. No one said you don't have the right to be intolerant hypocrites, you just are.
