Don't know.

That second link is showing 1620 avail July 5 at CA. I've never heard of the reseller but they're obviously a drop shipper and probably linking to one of the major disti's real time inventory system such as Ingram Micro.

It looks like Intel is stocking the channel in early July.

HT could stand for Hyper Threading But all the ES samples do not have it so more then likly a typo.

I figured it was a typo. My point was, I was under the impression that Core Technology processors do not have HyperThreading whatsoever, be it an ES or retail. Anyone second this? HT is strictly P4.

I don't think Newegg drop ships. I'm pretty sure they actually have inventory in their warehouse before they sell it which means they probably won't have inventory until mid-late July.

However Buy.com is simply a front end consumer ordering site for Ingram Micro. (probably the same disti that Newegg buys from). I suspect a boxed Conroe order placed with Buy.com will ship from Ingram approx. July 5.

I ordered my E6600 from Buy.com. I can't say they're my favorite reseller but I think they will have the earliest stock since their warehouse is Ingram.

I'm affraid of price gouging once the floodgates open. We'll see how this all plays out. In any event Buy.com orders are easy to cancel if something else looks better.

I'm 99% sure they are just linking to the distributer's inventory systems. (ie Ingram, D&H, Tech Data, ASI, etc)

I was pretty sure that HT would be killed with the introduction of Core but I've been hearing that Intel will enable HT in a future revision. I won't say that I'm certain of this at all but that's what I've heard...

You can bet on it. Something as wide as Conroe just begs for it.

If Intel was going to move up the release date people would definetly know about it. The professional review sites and mags would be all over the news coverage. Lets just hope when Intel does release it they'll have plenty of supply in the chain to avoid shortages. I suspect demand is going to be very strong on this new chip.

You're confusing "release date" with "ship date". It's perfectly plausable that Intel could be shipping Conroes to it's OEM's and Disti's as we speak even though official launch date is late July. They need to start filling the channel so there's product avail. at launch.

I suspect release date is when Intel allows the PC OEM's to start selling and advertising systems based on Conroe.

hmmm... true. You are correct. They would get supplies to vendors for their rigs in time for the July 23rd release. My bad.
