So I placed my order on Aug. 1 and selected overnight shipping, fedex tracking says it is out for delivery today 🙂

Yeah I ordered on the 1st and paid for overnight shipping and it is out for delivery today 🙂 I am a happy camper. I am wondering if they put the pre-order thing on there to be sneaky.

I already got mine, but unfortunately I got incompatible RAM (voltage problems) so... I'm up the creek until I get it replaced.

Sucks... 🙁

What ram did you get?

I had compatibility problems with the Gigabyte DS3 mobo and some G.Skill DDR2-800 ram. I think it was that by default the mobo would supply a max of 1.8v to the ram on boot, but the ram itself needed 2.1 or so volts or it wouldn't work. You could change it in the bios to give it 2.1v... but you can't get into the bios without ram 🙂

Some people worked around it using some cheap 1.8v ram to set the bios to give 2.1v, then swapped in their 2.1v ram and it worked. But I wasn't interested in this workaround, and instead ordered some A-DATA Dual Channel 2048MB PC4200 DDR2 Memory (ELJKD1A16K).

You do know that ram will limit your system specs a bit. Its only 533Mhz Ram. I would have got at least 667 if not 800 DDR2 ram.

I've ordered Corsair's XMS2 memory, which requires 1.9V... hopefully it'll boot up with that. That's why I went with it over the OCZ, which required 2.1V.

That memory works great on my DS3 board.

Thanks for the reassurance. I appreciate it!

I've heard nothing but good about the DS3 board. If I hadn't gone with one of the ASUS boards, that's what I probably would have gone with.

Yeah i stuck with the DS3 because of the high FSB. The asus just plain aint good when your using a E6300.

Yarr, ordered the E6300 from ZZF around 5am either on the 31st or the 1st. Order shipped on the 1st and is currently halfway here... If you notice a delay on FedEx's website it's probably from me refreshing the tracking page every few minutes.
