Sucks...

I had compatibility problems with the Gigabyte DS3 mobo and some G.Skill DDR2-800 ram. I think it was that by default the mobo would supply a max of 1.8v to the ram on boot, but the ram itself needed 2.1 or so volts or it wouldn't work. You could change it in the bios to give it 2.1v... but you can't get into the bios without ram
Some people worked around it using some cheap 1.8v ram to set the bios to give 2.1v, then swapped in their 2.1v ram and it worked. But I wasn't interested in this workaround, and instead ordered some A-DATA Dual Channel 2048MB PC4200 DDR2 Memory (ELJKD1A16K).

I've ordered Corsair's XMS2 memory, which requires 1.9V... hopefully it'll boot up with that. That's why I went with it over the OCZ, which required 2.1V.

That memory works great on my DS3 board.

Thanks for the reassurance. I appreciate it!
I've heard nothing but good about the DS3 board. If I hadn't gone with one of the ASUS boards, that's what I probably would have gone with.

Do you mind tell us max Mhz you get from this memory on ds3?
