Weird...a few checkerboards and artifacts in 2001SE. None in UT2003, but quite a few in 1942. I can overclock the card with the regular 3.7 ati, and the memory is 3.3 Infineon. So mine is no good...anyone checked in 1942?

To answer the Battlefield 1942 question: I have played the secret weapons of war demo with no artifacts with full AF / AA.

I tried one runing one more benchamrk before uninstalling the card, GL Excess. It was rediculous, the start screen half the screen was the descktop in a rectenbular checkerboard pattern and the rest was black. After that everything just looked eratic. This was without the mod but even with the mod the artifacts were nowere near as bad. Thisking something has changed I reran 3D mark 2001 and this time is looked flawless. Anybody know what could cause this? Maybe ther's hope for my card yet.

Thanks

Well, I've heard that depending how you do the mod...w1zzard's drivers or omegacorner or what have you...it may or may not work. So...

I got my Card today. It modded just fine. Ran full benchmarks 2001SE and 3DMark03. No artifacting no checkerboarding. This is my 3rd 9500=>9700 all three were successful 2 sapphires and now the Connect3d. I have been lucky 3 for 3

has anyone tried to softmod it 9800? i know you can't turn it into 9800 but that mod supposedly can increase performance. if you have, let us know how to do it, step by step, cause i sure can't figure out how. sorry i'm slow

Basically, you just flash it with the 9800 Pro bios I think...anything that'll softmod to a 9700 will work with this.

I first read about it here.

ok....got the card installed. installed rivatuner....now what? I'm as dumb as hubcaps on a harley!!!!! Spell it out guys!

Received mine Thursday in the afternoon. Applied Omega drivers. I get like grey pixels that are not really annoying.. I dont know if you would call them artifacts or not.. but ran 4400 stock speeds... faster than what I could get my ati 9500 pro overclocked at 350/320... Overclocked the Connect3D to 330/290 .. I got 5000 or close there.. It artifacts and checkerboards if i set the memory to 300 and run 3dmark03.. I have to reboot afterwards because it effects windows after I exit 3dmark03.. So should I get a Zalman heatpipe and some ramsinks so i can up the clock speeds?

received the connect3d card from newegg. I applied the softmod and right now I'm at 9700np with no artifacts. I haven't overclocked it yet. Does anyone if and what bios update i need to oc it?

Go HERE to get the BIOS file and Flash utility. I haven't used this, but I'am thinking of doing this if I get a 9500. Maybe someone else can say how it works.

Anyone know of any other sites that would sell possibly the same card? i know they won't be as good as newegg for their return policy, but am really looking to get a 9800 proish type card for around 150. balael

how about this? will this mod? haven't checked with them whether they have this as shown in the pic though.

sapphire 9500 supposedly L-shaped

From the picture, it looks like that one should work, although you have to be careful, since Sapphire also makes black PCB boards that have the memory chips in a straight line.
