Good find. I expect them to sell out quickly, like the Sapphire cards did, if the success rate holds up.

$179 + 6 shipping at Monarch

I'm still of the mindset to pay $100 more and get the 7800 GT for current generation features (SM3.0) and added performance.

Hope we get some confirmation not only about the ability to unlock pipes, but also the ability to overclock speeds before they are all gone. Also, does this card have the additional power connector? - I seem to remember that being important to the GTO^2.

The cheapest 7800GT around is 300$ after rebate plus shipping. So the GTO is a great deal if the mod works.

Tiger has one for $299 after rebate then Dell had one for $285 and $300 at the beginning of the week.

Just got my connect3d X800GTO today, 16 pipes are unlocked and will soon be seeing if the thing overclocks well.

Hey, for anyone who's successfully modded their connect3D X800 GTO. Did you use the modified flashrom to update, or atiflash?

One more thing, did you flash back to your original bio after enabling 16p, or just left the modified connect3D bios that was available at techpowerup?

I should be getting my card tomorrow or the next day at the latest, will post results.

Wow, from techpowerup, your chance of unlocking connect3d GTO is pretty good, 26:1 so far.

True. Sorry about that.

But be aware that the mod is for a X800XT, not X850XT PE.

It is not easy to reach 540 with the X800XT. Be happy with 520.

Not sure how hard 520mhz is to hit on the core as most I have seen has gone higer. It uses a copper heatsink unlike the cheap aluminum on the GTO2s. R423>R480 clock for clock.

Mine does 600mhz on the core w/ the stock heatsink and NO volt mods. I used W1zzard's bios from techpowerup! to get 16pipes and atitool to overclock.

I havent heard anything about sapphire gto unlocking, only the connect3d gto, and that one usually mods to a x800xt, which are almost as fast as the x850xt pe. Definitely a steal at $179 if it unlocks.
