It's wireless to talk to the nano, not the shoe. But yes, it's wirelessly talking to the little thingy that you attach to your nano. All the states are stored there.

Well anything that's wireless like that is of interest. Interest of safety - to send messages to people that are not paying attention with their earbuds cranked to 300 decibels. 😉

I'm more interested in those sports armbands the guy was wearing. What was that shirt thing with the nano holder? That was actually pretty sweet.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but the shoes are being released in a couple of days, and I was looking into this. Lord knows I need to start exercising, and I thought this was a very neat idea. Plus, the cost of admission is MUCH lower than I would have expected it to be. I'm a tech kinda guy, and if you can mix tech with exercise, I'll look into it.

Anyone else picking this up? Will it be available in stores like Foot Looker and the like, or only for order online right now?

I just did the Nike Run Hit Remix run this morning, and a LOT of people were using the + system... I'm going to try out the sports kit for my 8GB nano and see how well it works. I have a Garmin GPS (Forerunner 301), but I'm tired of the "weak signal" warnings all the time b/c of the tall buildings and trees near my apartment where I run.
