remember, they want you to buy the stupid shoe.
unless you're gonna tape it to your normal shoe or something, but that wouldn't be very trendy for apple people. lol.

you're not the only one. i like it...in fact, i'll be getting it.

Dude, that's so hawt!!! Actually, I think their implementation is spot on--not gimmicky or geeky and completely transparent to the activity of running. This will do ok amongst current iPod nano owners who run, but I don't think it'll have a big effect on nano sales themselves.

But then again, running is all about the shoes your comfortable in, and I can't STAND Nike running shoes (I prefer Mizuno or Asics myself) so I wouldn't get them even if I did have a nano. Hopefully Nike's shoes will get better too.

That's actually really cool. If I used an ipod nano I would be all over those first shoes.

I'm generally of the opinion that there are WAY too many iPod compatible devices out there but that is actually pretty cool.

Part of a kit is a special sensor that goes in the shoe. The Nike shoes have a place to put the sensor in, but there's nothing stopping you from putting it under the insole of a regular running shoe.

I think this is an awesome idea, I run a lot of weird trails or routes that are difficult to get distances on. A pedometer would work, but the fact that this will dictate progress through the ipod is really nice.

No word on if it's really "Nano-only" or not. They may make it that way since hard disk players may be affected by running with them (I've heard it does and doesn't hurt them).

Retarded. Most of these iPod accessories are a waste of money, but people don't care if it's trendy! Meanwhile, Jobs is laughing all the way to the bank. (which is wired there via iBank)

if I don't have to buy the shoes then I'd actually consider this. I'm just a casual runner, but it'd be nice to see my stats over time.

It's hard to say without actually seeing the sensor, but the only reason it works better with Nike shoes is that line of shoe has a special place for the sensor. With a little MacGyvering, you could use it in any running shoe I'm sure.

yea, i'm hoping its possible to just put the sensor in my laces and have it work and not affect my stride.

is it bad that I actually kind of want that? The shoes are bit extreme for me at $100, but I suppose someone will tell us how to convert other shoes to use it like in the mont blanc ink into the $2 pen.... The gadet thingy for $29 isn't bad, if it's on sale I may just buy it...

Actually I'd be more interested in buying the shoes to see what kind of electronics they have in them. :light:

All you really need to do is get the $29 sensor then. I believe all the electronics are there, and the shoe's just a normal nike shoe with place for the sensor.

It's wireless to talk to the nano, not the shoe. But yes, it's wirelessly talking to the little thingy that you attach to your nano. All the states are stored there.
