There are many disconcerting things about Letlow's behavior and death, but I was struck by how he said he tested positive just 11 days ago (according to Twitter, anyway) and was transferred to an ICU six days ago after talking about being hopeful days earlier. The disease works quickly, and it's unpredictable outside of obvious factors like age and existing conditions.

Playing with Covid is like playing Russian roulette. No one knows how their body is going to react until they get it and by time they know there body isn’t going to handle it well it’s to late to do anything.

It seems like his body over compensated and a cytokine storm took him out. He was doing better and was never on a vent but succumbed to a heart attack.

Agreed. But to be clear, Letlow is no longer paying any consequences, but his young family is, and that's kind of sad.

And that is the consequences he forced on his wife and children. Terribly irresponsible.

How many other families have experienced this due to Republican efforts to lie away the danger?

Soon it will be more than all of WWII... Compressed into a single year

What gets me is how along with these Repub Congressional minions of his, millions of Trump's followers practically made a death pact with him by agreeing to ignore the advice of health experts in order to support his idiotic attempt at downplaying the pandemic. This transcends the boundaries of the instinct of self-preservation that nature gave us. I wonder if on Jan. 20, 2021 he will preach to his cult following that all is lost and they should end it all in one big sacrificial drinking binge because the world will end due to his being dethroned and cast out into the wilderness.

Of course he wouldn't kill himself. He'd kill those millions of suckers of his to make the point that he deserves to be given a second term in order to beat out the statute of limitations hovering over his head.

It's hard to feel sad for someone who made this their choice and is now paying the consequences for that.

Its too bad that their Daddy was a fool, but he's joined and participated in a party that's let the virus get out of control, are lying to people on what needs to be done to stay safe, and have killed hundreds of thousands of people in that process, as well as destroying the economy.

This virus is insidious in that so many people recover you can delude yourself into thinking there is no danger, but still kills enough it's a serious disease at scale.

F them for not helping the public understand that.
Made his bed. Now lying in it.
If only karma was more universal.

The question now is - will Congress members catch COVID from surfaces in the Capitol touched by the rioters...or will the rioters catch COVID from the surfaces previously touched by Congress members?

Catching covid from surfaces is highly unlikely from what I understand.

Surface contamination isn't the big spreader as was originally thought early on when people were sanitizing all their groceries when they brought them home.

I'm still doing that, and will until this blows over

Sanitizing your groceries? We take precautions, use hand sanitizer while out and 'touching' things, and after bringing in groceries and putting them up we wash our hands.
