Congress Gets Covid

In the past week, nine members of congress have tested positive for covid.

Considering the average age of congress, this seems like a potentially volatile situation.
And what party do they represent? Seems that all the DC folks I've been hearing about getting Covid are Republicans, i.e. from the SSE in the Rose Garden to congress to Senate.

Edit: I see, 7 of 9. Figures.

"Even though I have to stay on the farm for a bit, nothing is going to stop me from doing the job that the voters elected me to do. "

Clearly the words of a fool.

Ah, Nunes! Seeing as he doesn't have a spine or a heart I figure Covid will go right to his lungs. That could get juicy. :mask:
The only thing that's been shocking me, is how these aholes managed NOT to get COVID for as long as they did.

Acted recklessly putting his family at risk and he ends up dying because of his own conduct.
It's kinda like when a drunk driver gets killed crashing into a tree but the family survives.

Yes, and now the kids have to cope with the loss of a father at a young age, which is really sad, because feelings and stuff.

There are many disconcerting things about Letlow's behavior and death, but I was struck by how he said he tested positive just 11 days ago (according to Twitter, anyway) and was transferred to an ICU six days ago after talking about being hopeful days earlier. The disease works quickly, and it's unpredictable outside of obvious factors like age and existing conditions.

And this reason (among others) is why you don't taunt it and gamble with it when you have 2 little children.
"no worse than the flu" though.

It's hard to feel sad for someone who made this their choice and is now paying the consequences for that.

Its too bad that their Daddy was a fool, but he's joined and participated in a party that's let the virus get out of control, are lying to people on what needs to be done to stay safe, and have killed hundreds of thousands of people in that process, as well as destroying the economy.

This virus is insidious in that so many people recover you can delude yourself into thinking there is no danger, but still kills enough it's a serious disease at scale.

F them for not helping the public understand that.

Agreed. But to be clear, Letlow is no longer paying any consequences, but his young family is, and that's kind of sad.
