Congrats DOW!

can we hit the bottom already so i can start buying again? i bought at around 8500, when the prophecies weren't nearly as bad. oh well, i have time to ride it out.

I own VNO, because of a short squeeze and expiring options in March I personally think it's due for a huge rebound.

Yeah, but your transactions costs wouldn't make it worth while.

welcome to the Obama "change" nation. I am so glad I did not drink the Koolaid and vote for that idiot. LOL for all the Bush haters who constantly said Bush lied they have gotten triple doses of that so far with this one LOL

What, markets dont react well to govt expansion and 1.75 trillion dollar deficits? Say it aint so!

They don't react well to the largest banks around the world going bankrupt and others losing billions, not to mention the world economies collapsing. At this point, the so called govt expansion and record deficit is a symptom not a cause.

Yes. But the transaction fees will probably distroy your profit and in most cases will cause you to lose money even if the stock went up significantly. For example, suppose you were to buy two shares of $10 stock from a place that charges $7 a transaction (to both buy and sell). If the stock went up 50%, you'd gain $10 in stock price, but lose $14 in the transaction fees. Net loss would be $4.

Unless you are talking >$1000 buying stock is ususally not the best investment.

That's a hell of a specific prediction. I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Golly, I didn't know OT needed specifics. Does my post upset you, or are you just an ass?

Not even the Great Depression was that bad or lasted that long. 5 years from now we'll be in a bull market with the Dow over 10k again.

It's a comment of so little use that I actually feel guilty of wasting electrons on this reply.

Its not going to happen that quick. Its probably not even going to hit its bottom for couple years and the climb from there will be very low and slow imo.

I like how people have opinions with no basis or qualification. They can just "feel it" or take the high route and pessimisticly guess.

If we continue at this pace ... when we "hit bottom" ... we'll be at 0 ...
