I can't say that I am shocked that he decided to join the Yankees. It looks like he is going to have to get a hair cut and a pretty mean shave. :)

Yankees need a center fielder and a legit leadoff hitter, he will fill both those roles well. The only downside is that he has no arm in center, kinda like Bernie, but Damon can go get the ball. I like it.

he's only worth a 2 yr. anywhere. i have a hard time rooting for him as a pinstriper.

i can't even be happy about taking him away from the Sox.

God damn Yankee$, I loved Damon on the sox and now I'm forced to hate him. He better not cut his hair to follow their ridiculous clubhouse rules.

He will cut his hair and take a shave. No cavemen in the Yankee clubhouse. :)

Steinbrenner rules all. He will make him shave it off.

He's a solid offensive player, and he can catch everything. His below average arm is his only downside. The Yankees needed a center fielder in the worst way, so they were bound to pay for one.

While at the same time diminishing their most hated rival...that alone does help his value. Plus, he KNOWS the Red Sox pitching staff pretty well, which will help if they both end up in the postseason...

Part of his appeal though was that he looked like Jesus!

I knew Scott Boras wasn't going to get a 7 year contract for Damon. Wow, 13 million/yr. is a lot for a player like Damon.

Next years pitching staff will be quite different than last years...

I really hope the sox can make a blockbuster deal and get rid of manny, wells, and marte and get a CF and a SS and an ok SP.

This sucks. The Yankees did not need another bat in that lineup. Just needed someone who could play good defense. Damon has a noodle for an arm, his range isnt that great anymore, and they overpaid for him.

New York teams have endless payrolls. Seems the Mets loaded up this year too, and they still have Beltran.
