but if apple is claiming 3 hrs batterly life on video...you'll be lucky to get through a full movie on one charge.
better battery life + FM tuner and I'd probably get one. vorbis and/or gapless would seal it.
Well, you'll have to remember it uses H.264 which probably takes a lot of processing power. I mean, they increased the battery life of the iPods and the video playback time still sucks. That oughta tell you something.
I would like FM tuner but realistically theres only one channel I listen to at all and it's a sports radio channel. Mainstream radio stations play 95% junk anyways, so for me at least, FM support is not that important. I can see where it would be important for some though.
I have mostly MP3's in my collection. My current ripping methods are either directly to MP3 or (more likely now) ripping to FLAC and then archiving my collection. Then encoding the FLACS to MP3 or any other future format when needed. I don't really know anyone who uses OGG, as such it's not really an audio codec that needs to be implemented. I know gapless playback gets touted up the wazoo but is a 3 second gap between songs really such a make or break feature? Yep, it'd be nice to have ogg and gapless playback but seriously...no pressing need for them to implement it.
