Damn - appears I can't add more poll options. I like Steamworks for sure - great spot.

Burgoo is awesome from what I hear, but I'd prefer the 10th Ave or Main St. locations, as it could be a gongshow trying to get across the Lions Gate Bridge or taking the Seabus.

i missed the last one, but i might show up to this one.

itll be pretty hard to troll the boards after you guys all see me in real life though.

i suggest a location off the olympic routes/downtown unless theres tons of parking out back

I obviously don't have any suggestions, and I can't guarantee I can make it since my sister would have to come as well and it's apparent by this thread that she would not be invited...

What dates are we talking about here? I'll throw my hat in the ring for Steamworks. Nice and easy to find for all the out of towners too.

Yeah Steamworks is a good call. I'm easy though, so whatever you all decide is fine as long as there is beer available.

Burgoo is good, but the one on 10th has a really small bar section and only the one little tv above it. I think we could get 12 in there if we completely took over the entire bar section, but that place is busy so we'd have to go really early.

There's another one on Main at 15th - it's a medium-sized restaurant, so not huge, but there is definitely parking around.

So far, I'm leaning towards either Steamworks or Burgoo.

Again, for dates, I've suggested either the 19th, 20th, 26th or 27. Any of these works for me.

The Burgoo on Main would definitely make more sense from a size and parking perspective. I like the one on 10th, but it's kind of cramped, but I've never had trouble with parking there either.

Well, I can't make it the 26th or 27th, but don't let me affect you guys' plans. I only put the odds I'll go at 30% even if it's on the 19th or 20th.

BTW, I can bring some stuff from Fry's/San Diego/CA/US up in case anyone wants to take advantage of your favorable exchange rate.

Ok, this thread hasn't seen a lot of action lately, but I'm bumping it again.

Let's narrow it to Steamworks or Burgoo. Who's in?

What date do you prefer?

Either one would be fine. Both are a tiny bit pricey for me as I don't have a job right now but nothing too bad. I haven't been to either yet but I've heard good things about Burgoo food wise. And Steamworks is nice and central for any out of towners so it's 6 of one 1/2 dozen of another. Looks like not that many are coming though 🙁

*UPDATED*

Based on silverpig's suggestion, we're setting the meetup for Burgoo on Main, for Feb 20th.

Let me know if you're in, and I can call soon for a reservation.

Do we have a time range picked out? Logistically wise it's the perfect choice for me, I could probably come since we'll be done with Olympic stuff at 3:30ish that day and probably were going to hang out in that general area.

However, I now have to somehow convince my sister to hang out with people "from the internet" and not make it come off sounding really weird...There also may be a 20-something female relative hanging out with us that night. (Sorry, no pics. I haven't even seen a picture of her in years).

make sure you tell someone else where you're gonna be, since im pretty sure one of these dudes is an axe murderer

I'm guessing about 5:00? That would give us time to have a drink and let everyone arrive in time to order dinner.

I'll see if I can convince Sealy to join us and balance the numbers.

I dunno, tell your niece we all met on Facebook or something? 😛 j/k

We'll probably be back from Whistler around 3:30 at SFU. At that point, we could drop my cousin off if she didn't want to go hang out with the internet nerds, and head downtown. What's the best way, public transportation wise, to get there from Port Moody?

How old are you guys anyway? I'm 26, my sister is 24. I just want to gauge the potential level of creepiness here. :hmm: 😉

I'm 27. But that doesn't mean anything. I'm more like 20 in every aspect 🙂

As for transportation here is how to get from Port Moody station to the restaurant. If you have a specific address I can customize it further:
