Concert tickets.. highway robbery

$25 for a ticket is not that bad. But $25 for a ticket plus $$5.50 service charge, $1.50 processing fee, $3.50 handling fee... That's absolute bullsh!t. What's the difference betweeen all those damned charges?

I'll still gladly pay that fee to see artists live so long as I can download their music free in any format I like.

i don't mind too much, live music is awesome. tickets for the switchfoot concert at the fillmore were 17.50 but with the extra charges it came to about $25 a piece just like what you said but i think its worth it to see a band that i love.

i paid $50 for Cypress Hill's Smoke out Tour ft Linkin Park and DMX. (at Door)

if I purchase the same ticket online at ticketmaster it would be 10 bucks extra.

Yeah, I pay those extra fees for going to their concerts.
Then, when I download their music, from the $1 I owe them, I subtract the cost of my internet connection for a few minutes, the cost of the CD I'm going to burn it to, the cost of the hard drive space, a couple of service/processing/handling fees for me to do all the work that normally some 3rd world nation would be providing, and it comes out to they owe me 1 or 2 cents for letting me download their music.
😀

How do you supposed Ticketmaster would make any money if they didn't have their own fees? Are they not allowed to run a business? Although I agree they add on WAAAAYY too much and they have a monopoly on it.

ticketmaster is a devil..

someone should call ticketmaster on the antitrust..

i buy stuff at the local store / ticket master outlet and it comes out a bit cheaper.. except for stuff like concerts that are hard to get tickets of.

However i prefer going to non ticketmaster events.

Eh... it's just the way things are. It's how they make money. I think it's totally worth it. They could just hide the fees and charge you the price and not show them to you. At least they're honest in that way 😀

buy them at the box office, typically you can save yourself quite a bit of extra charges.

Same charges. They are charing me $3.50 extra to pick the ticket up myself. Oh well. She said she'll pay for something else.
