I agree, you should turn it off if you are not using it.Shut it down. leaving it running for no reason is about as logical as leaving your car running for no reason.
Unless its set to automatically Hibernate(assuming Hibernate works on ur pc) then the difference in power consumption is almost negligable. But then again if you have an SSD for the OS these days, boot time for those is probably negligable compaired to Hibernate waking.
Honestly IMO leaving any shit running 24/7 thats not in use is just irresponsibly ignorant these days.
