My computer won't reconigze my ipod. I've owned it for more then 7 months, and it's always worked properly. Recently, I connected it to the computer and opened itunes - After several minutes of waiting, his auto play box comes up. It appears to be loading something, but then it closes. Nothing happens.

Suggestions? I need my ipod to work now.

No, and if for some unknown reason it does, I will have lost all faith in apple, not that I ever had any as Jobs is.... nevermind, back on topic.

I tried alll the USB ports.

I have two ipods (one from school) and my computer won't reconigze either of them. The ipod says "do not disconnect" when it's plugged into the PC, but it does't list it on the itunes. WTF!!!!

Guys, I need these songs by this weekend for a school project!!! Suggestions will be appreciated!!!!

edit: I tried every USB 2.0 (there's 8 of them) and none of them will reconigze the ipod, even though it says " do not disconnect" on the ipod.

What can I do?!!!

Did you reinstall iTunes and QuickTime yet?

IIRC from helping my daughter with here iPod, iTunes does some seriously crappy stuff with Explorer and subverting the view of the device. Without iTunes, it would appear as a drive. So, if you cannot get to it, check iTunes first. If for some reason, iTunes is broken, it may appear in the Explorer window. So look there and see if you have a new USB device. That will be more proof that it is iTunes is in need of a reinstall.

Did you try:
Different cable?
Different comp?
Different version of iTunes?
Windows update?
Updated firmware?
Chucking the iPod out the window and getting a Zen? :D

The problem appears to be the iTunes software. Uninstall iTunes and check. Then reinstall.

Ok, there is no uninstall feature for itunes (it isn't listed in the add/remove programs) so I went into my programs and tried to delete it. However, I got an error saying: "Access denied, Ituneshelper, make sure the disk is not full or copywrited"

What the freak? I'm on an administrator account if that's the problem. What can I dO?
