Ok, last week I got a new hard drive (Western Digital Caviar SE 120 Gb). I installed that baby, and all of a sudden my computer wouldn't boot anymore. After a few minutes of screwing around. I took the cable that connects the power supply to the motherboard out, and I reinserted it. Computer starts fine and no problems.
Today I get another 512 Mb stick of RAM and a CD-R drive. I install both... same problem. Except this time taking the cable out and putting it back doesn't help. I tried using just my original RAM, just the new RAM, all three DIMM slots. I also disconnected the power to EVERYTHING except the motherboard, and tried it like that. Still nothing. I made sure the cable that connects the power switch to the motherboard was correctly inserted. I am at a loss at what to do. Any ideas? My specs are below:
MSI KT-333 Ultra Mobo
1900+ AMD Athlon
512 Mb of Crucial DDR PC2100
Enermax 300W Power Supply
GeForce 4 ti4600
Audigy 2 Platinum
Samsung SW-242 CD-R
Pioneer DVD 116
Any help is greatly appreciated
