The computer ran fine for a few weeks, however I now have a problem. The computer just turns off. This happens during gamming. Sometimes it happens within a few minutes and sometimes it takes much longer or not at all. NOTE: every time my computer has just turned off - it will also just turn off again somewhere during bootup. This happens everytime even if i wait several hours before rebooting.
So far it has only happened during gamming but I've played that game without problems for weeks. Until now that is. I believe the computer is failing under stress.
A set up Asus Probe:
Normal:
CPU temp: 48C
MB temp: 38C
CPU fan: 3924
Chipset fan: 8035
+12v: 11.712 (seen 11.5 also)
+5v: 5.026
+3.3v: 3.28
Vcore: 1.52 (seems to move a little - 1.504 shows at times.)
I recorded some history in asus probe and these are the last values before a turn off.
cpu: 58C
mb: 41C
CPU fan: 4821
Chipset: 7670
12v: 10.816
5v: 5.053
3.3v: 3.264
vcore: 1.504
The values are recorded every 30 secs.
I looked in the Bios during reboot and saw a 10.62 value for the 12v. As always after a turn off, the computer also shut off during reboot .
additional info: GPU core temp 63C - ambient temp 47C (normal desktop idle)
My guess is that the power supply is going bad. However, I'm close to a noob. What do you think is wrong and what should I do to confirm good/faulty parts?
