My official title is "Assistant IT" but help with anything that has a circuit board in it. I work with one other person in a medium sized law firm with about 50 to 60 computers. I am pretty much the help desk guy and I make about 30k a year + full benefits (including paid holidays, sick and vacation days) Some days are crazy with problems and some days I don't do much other then roam the net.

Congrats. Sounds like a good start. I interviewed for a position in Baltimore earlier this year. There were some really nice areas, but the house prices are so ridiculous that I couldn't see moving.

As for me,

Did you find that getting your MS led to more job opportunities?

I didnt work after getting my Undergrad, I did my undergrad in India and come here for my Masters

But having an MS does help I suppose, as I see lot of my classmates are getting good job offers (atleast in california) from big companies

Although for us (international students) choice is a bit limited coz not everyone sponsors a work visa (h1b)
