When I was in school I just did freelance work for small businesses. Charge 50 bucks an hour and do the simple stuff for them like setup office 365, migrate email accounts, setup new workstations etc. I started with one company and word of mouth got me plenty of customers in a couple of months. Most shops and MSP's charge 100-200 dollars an hour nowadays so you will seem like a bargain and since it's a side income you don't have to have a large client base which becomes a problem working for yourself.

Better than the less than zero money I'm making (losing) now, building PCs, giving them away for little / no money, and still doing tech-support.

Armchair (or real) lawyers, teach me about the issues of liability. Should I be creating an LLC for this? How hard is that?

Edit: I don't have investors, nor more than a shoe-string budget. Just trying to eek out a few more bucks (like $2K/year) over what I get from my disability, and I have a lot of PC parts, and tech-support experience.
One word of advice....depending on your age......you need to be careful that you don`t lose your disability benefits by making more than you are allowed!
But the good news is cash only if yuo could do this on a cash only basis no checks or credit cards minvolved that would fly......as long as one of your customers is not the local disability office!
Good Luck!
In my case I makes from my disability $30 less thAN THE Maximum allowed........lolol

Here is a good example of what I proposed -

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gaming-Des...342?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c10#viTabs_0

193 sold. If you only cleared $75 on a system like that after all costs involved? You would exceed your stated goal with 30 units.
Dude, judging by whats in there... I honestly don't know how you can even get $30 cleared...

I would hope you get OEM + mass production pricing on stuff...

Buy maybe I'm wrong and you can price all that out on teh egg and get the total to jsut over $200....

EDIT: Processor + Videocard on Newegg is already ~ $160 MINIMUM. PLUS - You're still talking the Mobo, case, Wifi (Says it includes USB Wifi), Hard drive (albeit, just a boring SATA 500GB), 16GB Memory, AND it says Windows 10 Home authentic... If that's true, there is no way in hell you can get that kind of pricing.

Suffice it to say, you can get everything but the vid card for under $100. If you have more than $200 in the system I linked, you are in the wrong biz.
