i've found microsoft to be excellent too, rebates in a few weeks.
i got my maxtor rebate, and i think i've always gotten my staples rebates.
compusa was problematic a few years back, but for the ones i've called on (i've probably missed some small ones), they then sent them.
one thing is that you dont know which $10 rebate you received and which to complain that you didnt receive.
i've only recently tried circuit city rebates so i'll find out soon.
hi val was terrible, tried to screw me out of two rebates and only sent them when i threatened to call the attorney general of california and better business bureau. on both of them they gave me some lame excuse, like the upc didnt match - which was a lie and i had a copy.
meanwhile, they are out of business, and compusa has a hi val rebate advertised this week. no one will ever get that rebate.
another company that gave me an incredibly hard time was smith micro.
i had to call them tons of times, and was told many times that it would be sent immediately and then had to call two weeks later.
they were pretty sleazy.
i also ordered one of those sams 24 hour books and they told me some crap that the rebate was sent in too late.
