So does anyone know if they are liquidating? And are they closing on the 28th?

I just checked my local CompUSA and it is not showing up on the site. I called with the intent to ask if they were liquidating and got the floor manager. When I told him they no longer showed up on CompUSA's site he got pretty upset about it - I guess they just made the decision on the Alexandria, VA one this afternoon (and hadn't told them yet).

He ended the call pretty quickly by thanking me for the information and saying they probably would be having a liquidation.

DDDDAAAAAAAAMMMMNNNNN, that's pretty fvcked up to learn that you're going to get fired from some random customer.

I work for a major supermarket chain and am involved in the mechanics of opening/closing stores although I'm not involved in the process of deciding which stores get the axe. The suits once made a decision on Friday afternoon to close a store following the weekend and they told NOBODY. The employees found out they had lost their jobs when they showed up for work Monday morning. If I had been one of those employees I would have killed somebody

totally fvked up....too bad it seems like the deals are gonna suck too:(

This is good and bad news. The good news is that they are closing 2 of the 3 stores in and around Orlando. The bad news is that the store os South OBT will still be open.

I almost NEVER shop at Crapusa. The pkace always seemed to give me an overall BAD shopping experience.

This is another example of survival of the fittest ... and Crapusa is definitely NOT one of the fittest.

Thanks for the great news!

I don't like to walk into a store where idiotic salespersons outnumber customers. and CrapUSA has the slowest checkout ever.

It looks like the CompUSA in White Plains and West Nyack, NY are goners. Are they already closed, or are they going to have a big blowout sale like The Wiz did?

CompUSA... home of the $20 6ft "premium" Ethernet cable.

It's going to be hard to feel bad for these ripoff artists.

268 miles to the nearest store? Nice!

sh1t. It was already 90 miles to the one in Sunset Hills from S. Illinois.

Damn, wiped out of STL altogether.

I can't believe it, the ones in Chicago, Skokie and Downer's Grove are closing.

Though I think I heard about that last one closing a while ago, especially since the Fry's went up there.

Closest one to my house in Dallas is now 20 miles away, and we have pretty much everything within a 10 mile radius

Not too surprised that all the stores in Atlanta are closing. They are getting killed by Fry's, Brandsmart, Microcenter, and other stores in the area.

hmmm... so if i need a 20" lcd monitor and my girl needs a laptop - what is the best way to try to take advantage of compusa's misfortunes when they liquidate stock?

Considering they have 101 b&m stores left and a web site, I doubt there will be huge deals. But hey, it would hurt to call them.

dammit. They aren't closing the one in Alaska. I was hoping the nearest store would have changed from 4 miles to 1,452 miles. I friggin HATE that store. Ever since Best Buy opened up across the street, BB has kicked CompUSA's ass all over the place in every possible way. I'm REALLY surprised they are keeping that Comp open. The few times I"ve been in there over the past two years, there have never been more than 5 customers. They are always more expensive, have less selection, and have dumber salespeople.
