I went, I had a few items then gave them out as the line looked to be over an hour long to check out...

Nothing that I couldn't live without...

Went in for the UPS...OOS just a few minutes after 6:pM in Portland, Oregon.

Came home and placed the order on line, printed rebates - still have to pay $13.00 shipping & tax, but it's well worth that.

Thanks for the heads up!! I replaced my UPS every year or so and now I'll be able to just replace the battery.....good for those BIOS flashes when a power outage will reac havoc! :D

I was able to walk into to the San Bruno, CA CompUSA at 9 PM and buy the HDD just like that. They handed out vouchers for them before 6 PM, but I knew people would change their minds...

Anyone know what is going on with the Buslink drives? They changed the packaging so that it no longer says smartburn or justlink.
Did anyone pick one up at Compusa and open it already, very interested to see if its another manufacturer than we've seen before.

Scored a Hard Drive. Got there at 5:30, and they handed out numbered certificates at 10 till 6 to ensure that the people who were in the the front of the line got the good sh*t first. :D

It should be whoever gets their hands on it first its theirs.......

i'm not really sure, but my lite-on (not from this sale) says burn proof if that helps any.

I made it to the CompUSA in Altamonte Springs at about 6:30p to pick up a BL 52X cd-rw. They had 3 left. Was hoping it was a lite-on. Instead of 'smart burn' on the outside of the box, it says 'buffer under run protection.' Part number is '91.3ED37.025' - does anyone know who makes these things? LG maybe???

i was at the anaheim, CA store at about 5:35 and the line went all the way to the ross next door. but by the time the store opened, i was probably #100 of #200+ people. the only things i wanted were the CD wallet and the UPS--all of the UPS units by the door disappeared by the time i got to the door, but on a lark i checked the power strip aisle. they had about 5 tucked away over there too, so i nabbed one. then i was trying to find some hidden CD wallets at 6:30 when a guy walks out with a rack of hard drives and DVD media. i didn't even really want it, but i grabbed a few while i could. i never did get the CD wallet--i will try again today. thanks for the head's up guys!

I was at the Compusa in Rockville, MD last night around 9pm. There must have been 50 hard drives still sitting there. No one was even looking at them.

CompScrewUSA store in Irving, TX. I had just gone to Home Depot to see if they had any 350 UPS on clearance, and they didn't, and CUSA was just down the street, so I stopped by at 5:40 and was maybe #25 in line. I had no idea what they had on sale, I'd just heard an ad on the radio....and was close, so why not?

No problems in the store. I went back to the UPS location in the back of the store, and grabbed a couple APC 350's and also got the 60 GB Acomdata USB 2.0 external hard drive, but don't know if I'll keep it or not.

I was 3rd in line at my register, talked to another guy for about 5 minutes, looked back and there were maybe 20 people in line behind us. Where'd all them people come from???

Anyone experienced with the 60 GB Acomdata USB 2.0 external hard drive?

I went to the Lansing, MI store at 6:03, all of the CD wallets were gone...they only have one peg that I could find that held maybe 3 of them. I looked all over the place but no luck. Lines weren't as bad as other places apparently, but there were a lot of people in the store. Anyone know if I can get a raincheck for the case?

Some rebate things to think about from this sale:

1. Already mentioned is the fact that early online forms for the 175GB hard drive do not have time constraints while later ones do.

2. Store generated rebate forms for the APC both say to send copies of the UPC but the online forms say to send the original for the $20 rebate and a copy for the $10 rebate.

3. Addresses for the notebook light and the scroll mouse offers are exactly the same, same department, box #, zip etc.

4. Some of the forms require a signature. Don't forget that when filling them out.

Quite the mad-house. Went straight for the SMC 2404 11/22, not many people were grabbing those (most went for the 7004). I was hoping the 2404 would be less of a hassle to set up as compared to the reviews of the 7004 at Amazon, and that would be worth an extra $10 to me, but guess what...spent over an hour before access finally worked. My tablet could see the wireless network, but I couldn't do anything (some of the problem was my LAN settings in IE). Finally got it to work without encryption, but as soon as I enabled WEP, lost it again...spent another 20 minutes messing with that, finally gave up on the tablet being auto-assigned a key, entered my own key on both sides, and voila, I'm typing this from my living room.

I was under the impression I could filter exclusively by MAC address, but after extensive searching, I couldn't find any settings that would allow config of this feature.

Also grabbed the lappy mouse and glossy paper, but they were out of the UPS and lappy light. Waited over a half-hour in line for checkout. Then I went to a different CompUSA 20 minutes away, and walked right back out again...not only were they also out of the UPS and light, their lines were easily THREE TIMES as long as the other store.
