Component Cables

I recently got a big screen tv that can use component cables. Right now I am using S-Video. My non-progressive scan DVD player also has component outputs. Would there be a noticeable difference in quality from S-Video to Monster Component Cable?

If you are going to buy, go ebay for some Acoustic research component cables.

I bought a set used for $13 shipped.

Right now I split them up and using one to hook my subwoofer and two for my TV audio out to my receiver.

If you have a big screen high quality set - yes. Anything else, nope.

In my experience... you can get standard RCA cables and use them as components ... and you will not notice a difference in video quality. What they say about wasting money is true... unless you need these to last forever... and that's a long time.

I'm a videophile.

Don't get Monster. It's a complete waste of money. If you knew how they built them and what materials they used, you'd be surprisingly angry.

For a MUCH better value and much more extreme performance, get a cable that uses Canare RCAP connectors and either Belden 1695 (best) or Belden 1694a.

I use these guys:
BLUE JEANS CABLES

Other places sell this same exact cable in the $150+ category.

you must keep in mind that I'm going to college this fall

Don't take this the wrong way, but regarding your last college comment:

You can buy a 51" Widescreen TV but can't afford a $40-$50 compnent cable?......

my parents got the tv for the house...I was putting the cables on my card
EDIT: the one on the blue jeans cables site is like 95 for the length I need(around 4m).

Just out of curiosity, how does Sony fare in the videophile world? Are they up there in terms of quality or crappy for the most part (like in the headphone world, with the exception of a few)
