I've never heard of this guy, but he's obviously a boob of epic proportions.

How can anybody on the airwaves NOT know by now that you just never, never mention Hitler?

What an idiot.

Amazing that there haven't been any dynamic speakers since Hitler. I would have thought there were 1 or 2.....

Did you guys know Hitler was a vegetarian? Obviously, vegetarians have a little hitler in them! Obviously, we need more politicians like Bush who barely have a basic grasp of the English language.

Well, both have a way with words, and a passionate delivery that tends to inspire people, which leads to wild applause. This is true of many of the great figures throughout the 20th Century, from JFK to MLK to Reagan, etc. Anyone who is charismatic in telling an audience a message of hope is generally going to be fairly well received.

Now the obvious issue is that when comparing anyone to Hitler, regardless of whether you're speaking of a specific trait like their skill with oration, you're invariably going to be seen as comparing them to the evil that Hitler represents. Hitler is basically the embodiment of evil for our civilization, the ultimate villain, the embodiment of the Devil in the flesh. You'd have to be completely retarded to miss that, and consequently, any time you compare someone to Hitler, you're going to be seen as villifying that person. Sullivan knows this. It was deliberate. And regardless of the fact that in many ways Obama's speeches are like Hitler's, in the context of our culture, it is absolutely taboo to compare the two.

Personally, I think people calling this out are making too big a deal out of it and just giving Sullivan undue attention. Hitler was one of the best speakers in the history of human civilization; you'd have to be to convince so many people to invade surrounding countries, go to war and start one of the largest genocides in history. But you're not allowed to say that Hitler had any good qualities, because that would be acknowledging that he wasn't pure evil, and that's not acceptable in our society.

Shall we quote the thousands of times that Fox News or Bush have been compared to Hitler here? (For the record, I dont believe Obama = Hitler)

You are a smart person, but not everyone is as smart as you...ie..these types of techniques that Fox employs to associate anything negative with the Democratic party work. It works on the sheeple.

edit: if it didn't work...and if Fox KNEW it didn't work, then they wouldn't allow such filth to be delivered on thier airwaves. It just goes to show how easy people can be led astray...

Not enough, but for far too many reasons, it's far more valid than comparing Obama to Hitler.

Thats why i edited it before that reply. Because I knew some would ignore the first sentence and focus on the second sentence. You proved why the edit was needed.

Who cares who we compare anyone here to? I thought Sullivan was part of Fox News Radio (show me where I'm wrong) I also thought Sullivan broadcasts his opinions on Fox (show me where I'm wrong)

So ok, people here have called Bush Hitler. I also had pizza for dinner. Neither has anything at all with a Fox "news" radio person broadcasting commentary likening Obama to Hitler.

Your comment is pointless.

what was your first sentence by the way? "neither is Tom Sullivan"

well let me respond now then. Tom Sullivan is a radio personality (Am I correct in assuming he has some role with broadcasting news content too?) and his show is broadcasted on Fox airwaves. It stands to reason that his shows content shares the same ideology/politcal bent as other shows endorsed and broadcasted on Fox airwaves. But I could be wrong.... heh.

But as for him not being a news service, that is true. He thrives in that little dark crack in the media between truth and truthiness. He is one of these creatures of hyperbole and distortion that love to feast on daily current and political events and twist what "is" into "what it is to me." And gullible viewers/listeners soak it all up under the guise of "staying on top of current events."

If I wanted to stay on top of current events I wouldn't listen to Rush or Sullivan, or for that matter Stewart or that other guy... unless you want to know what they believe. But when do you get to figure out what YOU believe?

I think I need another thread before I hijack this one...oops too late!

OH one more point before I get off my high horse. These radio/tv guys should be viewed strictly as entertainment. Which is why I give slack to those Comedy Channel guys (they ARE on the comedy channel for chrissakes) but I give less slack to those creatures that claim to operate in "no spin zones" or on "news radio" but only deliver the news which is spun to fit agendas to suit themselves. If you think I'm wrong then I'm sorry for you.

Where did I say that? I didnt. I said people HERE liken Bush and Fox news to Hitler on a daily basis and there is no outrage whatsoever. This thread is just part of the daily Fox-News jabs they take around here.

Its called a double standard. The only reason the OP is even worth posting is because it happened on a Fox affiliate.

Really? Is it your position that if this happened on NBC, ABC, CBS, or CNN that a host comparing Obama to Hitler would have been ignored?

That's a pretty ridiculous position to take in my opinion.
