Company of Heroes 2 beta now on Steam

Does everyone get into the beta? I haven't pre-ordered the game or anything, but the beta is in my Steam library.
 
I believe so. And for anyone that's confused - go to your Steam library in order to download it, it's not on the Store page or anything.
 
In Steam options there is a place to accept BETA request (or something like that) at work so cant look, but I think you need that turned on.

so this means COH2 is out of the PAY to beta stage and anybody can VS Beta?
 
Eventually I'll have to get around to playing it more. Just not sure I like the elements from the failed COHonline being added to the game.
 
I am not seeing it and I clearly can do a Steam search for the term 'Company of Heroes 2 beta'. Is a link too much to ask for from you goobers ??

Odd. Well, Steam is the only place to download it, so if you're expecting to find an external download link from some other website you're not gonna find it.

It might only be available for people who own the first Company of Heroes. Do you own the first one?
 
I own multiple copies of all of them. I usta host LAN parties, so I have every CoH retail as well as purchased from Steam, as well as the THQ Humble Bundle (couldn't gift them since I already owned them).
Its about the only game Iplay any more, and I just want to play before dropping a Benjy on the DCE bundle.

PS - another Steam restart, another search, no results. I guess a higher power is punishing me for my blind devotion. So sad ... its worse than Red Wedding !!!!

Haha .. I kid .. its not THAT bad.
 
Got it !!! Initially was only seeing the pre-purchase CoH 2 and CoH 2 DCE links, now underneath both of them it indicated the beta is now available via the link. Looks like I was not getting refreshed content on that page.

...did you ever look in your Steam games list? You didn't need to search for it on the store. It was in your library already. :hmm:

But at least you figured it out. :thumbsup:
 
Guess that shows you how often I purchase Steam games. I don't even recall the last time I played a beta ... maybe TF2 when the beta came out. Last place I would have thought to look was my library.

Sorry for the panic, fellas. Mea Culpas and facepalm images are deservedly heading my way.
 
Did I mention how much I love my upgraded cable speeds ?? Pulled it in at 14MB/sec. and its ready to play already.

Well, played two games tonight, and as much as I want to say it will grow on me, it just isn't my cup of tea yet.
Note that I have been playing the Eastern Front mod for months now, and it is an amazingly well done mod - surely another MOTY winner for the EF crew. Their upcoming Ostheer faction will be added to EF 2.0 to further flush out the German side of the war.

I didn't play it much but I had a ton of fun with Blitzkrieg mod. Downloaded Eastern front but never got around to trying it.
