Yup, preliminary reviews seem to make it look rather disappointing. The only one's really excited looks to be overclockers. Time will tell for sure though.
I agree with this comment,at stock speeds it doesnt look that good, but hey if I can get 4ghz out of a 2.8ghz prescott then I would be happy with that.
Are you hearing stuff??? Cause if earlier reports are true this thing may be running warmer then normal northwoods which pretty much top out on air around 3.6ghz....so I may think 4ghz is not in reach unless all the eviews were majorly wrong or had early silicon and not the good stuff yet that the respectable sites with NDA'S will have...
Well, the NDA does have him tight lipped but Visionary posted a CPU-Z shot of his Prescott 3.2ES doing 4.2ghz on air@only 1.45v max

I surmise Intel isn't screwing the pooch as many believe they are with this CPU. Unless his is truly exceptional, these badboys are gonna ramp well enough even on air to make them popular with enthusiasts. However, I think the recent trend of near silent air cooled overclocked computing will be damned near impossible with this chip. Anywho, we'll know soon enough

EDIT:the server's been getting hammered since he posted that so it will take a bit to load.
