Played it for about 3 hours and am bored with it. It's the same thing that's been floating around for years but with better graphics. There are only about 8 to 10 buildings you can build total. That includes stationary missile towers and such. Only 4 infantry, 4 types of tanks, and 4 types of airplanes. Hardly any upgrades too. I'm seriously dissapointed. If it weren't for the better graphics, I would say this is a step in the wrong direction. I guess I've played too many RTS games and am just too picky now. I hated Age of Mythology for the same reasons. Hardly any units and structures.

Thank god I thought I was the only one thinking about the same thing. It's the same all over again. And surprisingly the graphics in realtime isnt as spectacular as those screenshots from magazines.

Since when has realtime graphics ever matched up to a magazine screenshot?

Haven't gotten it yet, but from what I understand no. So basically times the units and buildings by 3.

i have a lot of fun with Red Alert. i'll probably be picking this up. I don't care for the games like warcraft and total annihilation. but CC red alert, i really liked it.

Yes, and no. The main units perform the same (minigunners and such) but there are different types of units for different countries. I was probably spoiled by Empire Earth. That had just tons of units and was so much fun to just go through them all and pit mech warriors against archers :D

I have seen it on 3 different systems now and it looks very different depending on the type of Video you got. It looks awesome on my P4 2.4 with GF4 4600. Just like the shoots in the Magazins.

As far as Gameplay... well yes... it plays like an RTS. I did play some Multiplayer already and I can say it is a blast! Units differ just enough tomake every team a little different. Good enough to buy and not returne in any case!

Total Anihilation = bad single player, but BEST MULTIPLAYER EVAR!

I need to find a copy of this game somewhere, because I'd still play it.

I preordered C&C generals myself. Should arrive this thursday. I hope I can run it alright... I'm running pretty much the minimum specs that the review sites (not westwood) reccomend.

Don't know about the official minimum, but most review sites reccomend at least this:

1.4 ghz processor
512mb RAM
64mb Geforce 3.

This is exactly what I have.

I am considering getting it. Most of the reviews (ok two) seem to think it's pretty good, although the earlier posts here don't... :(

My system is a GF 3 ti 500 for all intents and purposes with 512 ram, but only a celeron 1000. The CPU is the bottleneck. It's better than the minimum and I am thinking single player would probably be ok, but I'm not sure...
