Well, the Mod may have just been in a pissy mood. But if I was a Mod, locked a thread for obvious reasons (wrong forum), then someone immediately PMs me asking why and I respond that it's rather obvious, and he comes back with some lame attempt to be funny that could easily be construed as coming off as a smug, condescending smart-ass with abone to pick, I'd probably either warn you to tread carefully or go ahead and vacation you then and there.

I understand why I was banned. I wasnt pissed off about it one bit. I actually laughed when I first read that email 2 weeks ago.

part of the reason why i created this thread was to warn the others that mods might not always provide funny quotes to put in your sigs

When it's not something that directly affects the forums or another user, I don't think he should be banned. He said something funny to the mod which he didn't like... so what? Did it harm the forums in anyway? Did it expose minors to pornographic, violent, or crude material? Did it hurt the reputation of Anandtech? Did it insult any member or show blatant prejudice? No.

when dealing with mods always Think then respond.

With the rash of bans and locked threads (seems random at times or a new mod) it is good advice.
