This is a trigger point for me. Insulin is $300/bottle making it one of the most expensive liquids in the world. Theres NO reason for it! I can can go to almost any country i.e. Canada, Mexico...and get it for $50/bottle. Who pays the most for prescriptions in the world? Thats right. The USA. Here in AZ I like Sinema, but her marriage to the pharma industry infuriates me. I dont understand how we cant get this fixed. It started with Obamacare, which mostly benefitted the healthcare industry, and has progressively gotten worse. This isnt a D or R problem, its a people problem.

How is this not a D or R problem when the vast majority of D politicians would do it and virtually no R politicians would.

This is one of the most clear Dem vs Rep problems there is today.

0 Senate Republicans support Medicare drug price negotiation

But, again it's the Democrats who are stopping Medicare drug price negotiation, because Republicans are not held accountable for their votes by their braindead fucking base voters, and because everyone already knows that they are not allowed to vote against however the Party tells them to vote anyway.

Why should the pharma industry lose profits just to give life sustaining medicine to diabetics?

Besides I saw a diabetic with an iPhone and a fridge one time so I’m sure they can all afford it.

I assume by most of your posts here that you generally vote R, which R s have you voted for failed to even fight for lower drug prices for the masses?
 
This issue along with universal health care, livable wages, and paid leave are all widely supported by the public. Democrats need to stop negotiating. They also need to stop act like they are fighting for their party. They are fighting for Americans.

This is a place for price controls, not negotiations. When you look at what the PharmaBros take home in compensation packages, it's a no brainer.

If drug prices (as well as all medical prices) were controlled and set to reasonable rates, health care would not be the abyss it is. Knock of the whole 'citric flavor enhanced gelatinous dietary supplement' (lime jello) crap.
 
Well, to be fair, the R's are voting against a large spending bill of which that is one part. But for shits and giggles, after BBB either goes down, or gets passed without this in it, they should introduce it as a standalone and see how many R's will vote for it. My guess is about zero, give or take zero.

Since it polls around 80% popularity, it's another thing the dems can hang around their necks next November. Them and Sinema, of course.

Volunteer to help spread the word and hope for the best.

IIRC, blackangst is from AZ. He may have voted for Sinema (I doubt it), but it's a possibility.
 
OP knows full well his team is the one holding back the price drops. OP posts a story that has zero to do with that and focuses on one DINO who certainly now, literally, the new champion of the rabid right wing but we are supposed to care about a right winger and their personal choices to get adult onset diabetes? Work on that BMI and lay off the sweets.
 
If you ran a business wherein you bought Stuff in bulk you would be offered a Discount or would request one. Republicans often will imply that they would run Government like a Business, except they refuse to do this simple thing.

It's almost as if they just give money to those who have Bribed them best.
