I love the 31Mb per second, but they wont let me use file-sharing like DC++ or BitTorrent.

If I cant file-share, what the fuck do I need 31mbits for?
So I can check on my viagara emails even faster?

you're getting jacked then.. either that or you're a bad negotiator.

i'm in denver, and i'm paying $140 for Premium, Internet and Phone... i get HBO/Starz with that price too.

All i had to do was call them and tell them my previous rate was too expensive.

i called them at the end of my trial (80/month) to cancel
they only offered to downgrade tv and internet and retain the same 80/month price (thats not a discount)

i called a second time to cancel... they said "go ahead and bring the boxes back to the office"

i called a third time to cancel.... they said "go to the office to cancel"

so, no attempts at customer retention. i went to direct tv & qwest and i love it. FASTER, better quality, cheaper. only prob is contract but i dont care

You said standard TV and standard Internet is $120/month. Now you say they offered to let you "downgrade" for $40 less. What were you downgrading TO?

I pay $117 for internet, cable (lots of HD included), and phone. Pretty reasonable imo. I've never had a problem with them and my internet connection is very speedy. We canceled a lot of features on our cell phones that are picked up by our home phone now. Unlimited minutes 24/7 is awesome. I can check my home voicemail online and have it played to me over the speakers/on an internet capable phone. I love that feature.

TV pisses me off because I believe if we pay for their STANDARD CABLE (not basic), and get channels like ESPN, etc we should rightfully obtain their HD versions.

You do now... Comcast gives HD at no extra charge.

FREE HD with no HD equipment or access fees

Wait what? Where? I see the ad but is it for triple play only?

standard was espn/cooking/etc.. no premium (hbo/starz).. but i had HD option. they wanted to take away HD

internet was 2-tiered (3 and 5mb???). it was the same price on trial and they wanted to put me back down to 3mb.

throughput was spotty, and response was poor

That info is wrong. Comcast only gives HD for network channels. Still stuck with SD suckage on cable channels unless you shell out for the HD package.

OK, then you didn't really have "standard" cable. You had HD cable, and to get non-network HD channels you need digital cable + a box (or a cablecard)

I got the info off this page...

http://www.comcast.com/giftche...NTCMP=ILCCOMCOMTP20669

I have the HD Plus package.. and get the HD free, and no longer paying extra for an HD DVR box

their prices in denver BLOW. standard cable tv and standard cable internet for 120$...fuck that

You think that's bad? Try living in the home of Comcast, Philadelphia. ComCrap holds a monopoly over the ENTIRE city. I pretty much have no other options for TV and internet. DirecTV isn't available in all places, and the only other broadband available is AT&T DSL. Assuming I was able to get DirecTV and AT&T DSL, the combined price would be even more outrageous.

So you're complaining that the competition can't compete? Sounds like you want to hate the leader and innovator for offering such service at such a low price.

You said it yourself - you have options you just think they are too expensive. That is not a monopoly.

Also...pretty much most major cities do not give you more than one cable option. No direct TV b/c too many buidings in the way.
