The reason I stayed w/ cable........(for now anyway)........

#1.) Cable has much better analog TV. (I have 4 TV's in my home & only one on DVR. I don't want an STB.........said JUST for Derkwad ;) ........on every TV)

#2.) Cable doesn't require a 1yr contract.

#3.) Installation is a bit involved. Seems to take neighbors a couple weeks from conduit to 'on', but a very powerful tool & definitely one to be reckoned with!

Although I think Comcast is the Devil, Comcast wins in the TV department for one reason.....

On Demand.

i'd rather have an STB, frankly, thats one of the reasons i'm getting the Fios as we will get 2 DVR's whereas comcast will only give you one DVR.

2. verizon doesn't require a 1 yr contract but will give you a discount if you take the 1 yr contract.

We went from DirectTV to FIOS...FIOS whoops its ass, hands down. I haven't used Comcast extensively - only a little bit at my cousins - but was not impressed whatsoever by it. I'm using Dish network now (moved) and our DVR is crapping out. Just negative after negative...wish FIOS was an option. :( FIOS all the way

ok, i got fios about a week ago.

first things first, it seems to have much more bandwidth than comcast. at least in my area. comcast was always blocky and there were constantly problems trying to get HD content on demand.

second, i am saving about $25.00 / month PLUS i get 2 DVRs for the lesser price than what i got from Comcast (comcast will only give you 1 DVR as they say supply is limited).

the only real negative i have regarding Verizon Fios TV is the remote doesn't have a Page up Page down function. when you have over 300 channels page up page down is very very usefull.
