Cost difference is in the favor of Fios TV.

Digital Channels package

basically the same 180 channels for both comcast and verizon.

Movie Channel Packages

right now i only have Starz for 10.00 / month, with Fios i get Stars, Showtime and Encore for $12.00 / month

with Fios they will give me 2 DVR's Comcast will only give me one.

overall

my current bill with Comcast = $98.00 / month

Fios is offering the same thing + Showtime, Encore, MBC (Korean Channel) for $97.95 / month.

tough call?

Update

ok, i got fios about a week ago.

first things first, it seems to have much more bandwidth than comcast. at least in my area. comcast was always blocky and there were constantly problems trying to get HD content on demand.

second, i am saving about $25.00 / month PLUS i get 2 DVRs for the lesser price than what i got from Comcast (comcast will only give you 1 DVR as they say supply is limited).

the only real negative i have regarding Verizon Fios TV is the remote doesn't have a Page up Page down function. when you have over 300 channels page up page down is very very usefull.

The only thing I don't like about FIOS TV is the menu system, but other than that it is far better than Comcast.

Comcast will probably try to offer you some sort of deal to not cancel.

I just switched from Comcast to DirecTV.

After 3 failed DVR HD units...I wouldn't allow them to give me a 4th. It's sad how bad those boxes are.

Not to mention, the bill was NEVER the same. My bill would fluctuate for no reason, even though my service stayed the same.

Comcast is craptastic.

i forgot to add in the summary, i will also get an additional DVR vs what comcast offers.

i've already dropped Comcast High Speed for Fios, now Fios TV is available in my neighborhood.

good by Comcast. well that is until Verizon gets sloppy, then i'll play them against each other.

ya, competition is a good thing.

FiOS FTW!!!! Like supafly said, its not the best interface, but awesome lineup. They just moved many channels, I'm hoping that this indicates that more awesome channels are comming soon. Does Comcast have: the NFLNetwork, ESPNU, and other channels that arent widespread? I have enjoyed it since September and glad Cox is gone!!!

I haven't looked at FIOS channel lineup, so I'm not sure. But with DirecTV having the two new sats coming online this year and the addition of 100 new HD channels, I'll keep my DTV for now.

DTV has Food Network in HD? I might have to get that now.

I'm debating between Comcast and DirectTV right now since FIOS isn't offered in my area. :(

Giada De Laurentiis is more to my liking, but she isn't bad either. :p

not a bad one.

the best part of the Fios Lineup is, you get Showtime, Encore AND Starz for the same price Comcast charges for just Starz.

I've ordered the Fios TV, already have Fios Internet.

the Fios TV is scheduled to be installed 3/29/2007.

I'm going Verizon Fios in July when my 1 year agreement with Comcast is up. Goodbye Comcast.

I wonder what the competitors are going to do to be innovative and compete to FIOS? They'll probably think up something.
