Comcast: the most hated ISP of them all.

Pound for pound, they are by far the most hated ISP to date: http://time.com/money/4163703/comcast-most-hated-internet-provider/

Come on Google Fiber!

But see..they don't care so this title is worthless. They will hold it with pride in one hand as they shovel their money into their pockets with the other. This is how you know capitalism has failed us.

Yet I'd GLADLY dump Wave Broadband for Comcast...

do u use more than 1.4gigs/data a month?
if not, then get Ringplus.
it's a sprint reseller that offers 1.4gigs/month data with free tether/wireless hotspot.

it only costs a one time $20 deposit just incase you go over.
you must bring your own phone.
oh yeah.. and your area must have sprint 4g LTE coverage

I love's to do me some bashin', but I'm far more positive towards them than negative.

Their service is rock solid at both our primary and secondary residences. I do hate talking to them on the phone although I had a pretty good experience last evening. I do love, and that is the correct term, the people at the local xfinity store. They are helpful, cheerful, and really seem to be looking out for the customer. I went in yesterday to pick up an X1 DVR and start up TV service for the four months we'll be down here and although I was fifth in line, I waited less than five minutes. They had every counter space manned up.

So you keep silent when the positive all runs out? LOl

Comcast is like being in a relationship with a hot woman that treats you like shit. Unfortunately, in my area it's either her or a hunchback troll (dsl).

Cox here. Can't complain really. Decent to deal with on the phone. Reasonable prices. Rare interruption to services. I literally just downgraded my service to save a few $$$ a month. I've never seen my 100MB down link anywhere near saturated so I figure what is the point for the extra headroom? Even @ 25MB down... the most I've seen from Steam downloads, which is the fastest I've ever noticed, is ~10MB.

Pure evil. Comcast just keeps getting worse.

The latest service/pricing shakeup raised prices across the board, while they claim they've given customers a "free" speed upgrade on broadband services.

What they've actually done is increased speeds only in _bundled_ service packages, as well as having discontinued faster speed tiers for new internet-only customers (existing customers are grandfathered in at their old service tier and speed). They're doing absolutely everything in their power to force consumers into bundling services.

And then there are the increasingly widespread enforcement of bandwidth caps and overage charges in markets with no competition. Ostensibly out of concerns for performance, but clearly for increased revenue opportunities.

We'll have municipal fiber here within a couple of years. Then Comcast can rot in Hell.

They just tried to hit me with a DVR service fee and some HD fee when I don't even use one of their DVRs. I was able to get it removed but I'll have to watch my bill for awhile to see if they try to sneak it back on.

Well, add me to the list of customer that they screw over. Somehow, after I paid my bill in full last month, a $10 fee was added. Shows up as an overdue amount and charged a $9.50 late fee on top of it. Call customer service and they admit it was a system error and as a "courtesy" they will do a "one time" removal of the late fee. So nice of them to fix their billing error on my behalf.

and theyre only gonna do it once so their next fuck up is on you

whoever let the tv company also run internet is a joke

they need to be kept seperate, so they can start competing against each other

I had Comcast for a little over a year. I liked them. It was a good price for 1 year, then when the price went up it was still very reasonable. Good speeds, and higher was available for more money. Never had a problem. There was a 250gb cap, but I think even when I had a roommate, we didn't go much over 100gb.

When I moved, I wanted to keep them but they didn't have service there. The only option is AT&T Uverse which is the most expensive and least reliable internet I ever had. Just terrible. Speed is about the same as Comcast but way more expensive. There is also the same cap but their monitoring tool hasn't worked forever.

I WISH I could have kept Comcast.

You haven't experienced the full experience until you experience Cable Card activation hell.

With that said, I've been with them since dang near 2000.

FIOS keeps them in check around here as far as the bandwidth cap crap goes.

I even asked the guy if their next billing screw up was on me and he responded with the most scripted response and then offered me a free 2 months of a premium channel. I politely refused because I could only see that being a mess down the road.

As far as the billing issue, I think it's because their system can't handle how data caps are handled. We get three free overages a year, then are billing $10 for each 50GB chunk over 300GB. My assumption is that when we went over in November, the system automatically generated a $10 credit to our account making the billi $68.95 which is what I paid. When the next billing cycle started, it created a charge of $10 for the overage, but made it retroactive to the prior period. The data cap trial customers get to beta test their odd billing system.

If you notice and call them on it, they fix it. If you don't notice it, hey free money. Everything to gain and nothing to lose. This is such a common issue I could almost swear it was a strategy to squeeze out a little more profit. How often do they make an error that results in your bill being less?

Anybody?

Same thing happens with cell phone bills. Cable and Cell are two of the most corrupt businesses there are these days when it comes to 'mistakes' that if you don't catch...oh well.
