Who needs component cables? Just use a 3 connector stereo pair + composite video cable. Got plenty of those laying around.

That's kind of strange. When Comcast came and setup our cable (HD), we got HD component cables that were black with gold colored metal parts. Anyway, as has been said, unless you are a complete audiophile/videophile (or whatever those are called) you won't notice much of a difference, if any.

Use the money on something which will add noticeable value to your setup - surround sound system / stereo system. Maybe once you have one of those, the extra costly component cables will maybe make a noticeable difference.

Sure. Its just a set of 3 RCA cables, no matter what the label on the package says or how they are color coded.

Go with a HDMI cable. I had the component cables and then tried the HDMI and never went back! Far better picture quality.

They will fit and likely work, but you'll get the best results from 75ohm cables. The yellow video cable should be 75ohm, but the RCA audio cables may not be.

3 yellow video cables = good to go
yellow / red / white = will probably work fine, but maybe not to spec
