I was gonna post this but had to take off. Grabbed a screenshot of it though. I was very happy to see it :D

Would have been epic had they placed 2G1C on there.

They didn't get hacked, someone hijacked the domain name. It was under the control of Network Solutions, which just about says it all.

And that's the bit that actually makes this rather bad. None of the Comcast servers were compromised, but mail.comcast.net was redirected for a period of time. It's entirely possible a great deal of login information was sniffed out of clients trying to connect via plaintext.

Flush your DNS cache, the DNS entries for their mail servers have been fixed. Comcast's own DNS servers are refreshed, external DNS servers may not be.

And this is a really good time to start using SSL for SMTP and POP/IMAP if you aren't doing so already. Plaintext access could have been compromised, SSL would not have.

thanks that seemed to have helped me pull some mail in, just received two new ones.

I pull my mail into outlook 2007 at home and leave a copy on the server. While i'm at work i pull my comcast account into my gmail account and Gmail was saying that it couldn't check the mail since around 12:15 am last night.

Edit: N/m.. Gmail still says this: Connection Error. Mail from this account has not been retrieved since 9:33 am. View details

And for my second comcast.net account it says this: Connection Error. Mail from this account has not been retrieved since 11:27 pm. View details
