Guys - I have a problem.. I did 2 orders on one day after the other (10/23 and 10/24) .... my first one was charged (on 10/31) but the second one has not yet been charged as of 11/03 (9 days now).

Did anyone make 2 orders in a short time period and got both the orders charged ?? This could a problem .. CH may have flagged the orders made within say 24 hrs.

Damn..some of my favorite DVD's are in that order !!

According to earlier posts, some people were able to place both orders at once or they just called after. I did both the same day recently. 10/31 I think andI asked the 2nd CSR if I was allowed and she said no problem. Also, it might be just a delay because of the weekend.

I'm debating whether to do another order or not - I can not decide. I'd be getting

The Burbs
The Great Outdoors
Uncle Buck.

Anyone care to persuade me in either direction?

never heard of any of these movies .. are you sure you want to order these ??
maybe u already have a big collection which has all the good DVD's....and now you are ordering just for the kicks !

My advice: Look through this thread and you'll see all the good DVD names.

I was wondering which number did u guys call to cancel your account? the one u called to order DVD, or the number on the catalogs which sent with your DVD movies?

the # that they send the bill on.

I wonder if it's physically possible to get 100 DVD's by Christmas ?

yup...get multiple p.o. boxes :D

Desi - All are older comedies. I've got a decent collection already - and a lot of the newer movies do not interest me. I can appreciate getting MIB ($39.95) for only $7, but it isn't my style to grab movies I'll never watch more than once. I've looked through the list - but in terms of "must haves", the ones I listed are about the only ones I'd watch time and time again. Thanks for the persuasion though. :)

that's correct. personally, i'd rather wait three months, and get them at half the price, but to each his own.

Add Kundun and Say Anything to that list, and maybe Amelie and Royal Tenenbaums as well. I try to get movies that I think I'll end up watching at least 5 times.

Man..these are all old movies...ahead of my time...I dont mind seeing once ..but not 5 times...cant relate to it.

How about something from 80's - 90's ..I mean the ones which having good visual/audio effects and more like a landmark of its time.

Kundun, Amelie, O Brother..., Say Anything, Rushmore, and Royal Tenenbaums are all relatively new, and all worth repeated viewings in my opinion.

In terms of stylishness or visual esthetics, I think Leon (the Professional), Tomb Raider, La Femme Nikita, the Last of the Mohicans, Heat, Three Kings, the Negotiator, Apocalypse now, and Tombstone are all first-rate, I think. Don't know if CHC has Chasing Amy, but it's definitely worthwhile, too.

Great.

Glad you could find the list of use.

I too am looking forward to the sequels, why must they space them so far apart?!?

Best of luck on your DVD collection - let me know if you want any further assistance.

I realize that CH will flag you if you have too many accounts. Is the number of accounts based on address or credit card number? I'm currently signed up for 2 accounts on one address. Is it ok for me to sign up for 2 more accounts on a completely different address using the same credit card as I did before? Thanks.

The quickest way to your answer would be in the DVD Club Faqs over at DVDtalk. They are the brains behind this operation and are most knowledgeable on the subject.

XLR8R: Yep ...I already know this. I have 2 account at 3 different address with different names and credit card nos which mean I have 6 accounts active at a time.

But here's the scoop. As per the rules or what I see in this thread, I can always cancel an account once I receive the orders and start a brand new account the very next day with the same name and address.

Is that ok ? Anyone ?

Also, is there a minimum time period between opening 2 accounts with the same name and address ? I started 2 accounts on consequtive days. Only the first one has been charged - that was a week after I openede the first one. The second one is yet to be and its been about 10 days now. Is this normal ?

Infact another account (diff name and address) which I opened few days after the second account mentioned above has already been charged.

Does the processing depend on the physical location or the time ?

Sometimes orders can be "lost". People report this happening, but how often, or when to know whether it was actually "lost", I do not know. There isn't a limit for how quickly 2 accounts can be open. There are those who report their CSR actually ask if they want to sign up for 2 accounts at a time, so I would not worry about that at all. Once you get your purchases, cancel - then do immediately. It is also less hassel if you call to cancel an account and sign up for another account at the same time. No PSN hassel - they can copy and paste your previous account information, etc. Just an FYI.
